The Popular Poll is interesting, but it is easily manipulated. So, how is a reader to know which candidates deserve their attention, and which are just getting their friends or alts to sway the poll results? How can a player casually interested in the Election get an idea of which candidates to take seriously without reading through 500 posts in 20 threads? Well, one way would be to get the options of the hard core Election Junkies who have read all those 500 posts and formed informed opinions on the qualifications of the candidates.
In this thread I will be asking for feedback from those GÇ£ExpertsGÇ¥, the Election Junkies who have combed through all of those candidacy threads. To be included on the list of experts you have to post your list of the candidates with your endorsements marked, and have proven that you are following the election closely enough to be considered and "Expert". This can be done by
posted in a meaningful way in at least 5 of the candidacy threads, or having two other Experts who are familiar with your election related communication on other mediums to vouch for your level of knowledge. Members of CPM0 will be assumed to be experts.
Instructions for the Experts:
Copy and paste this list. Add a (Yes) or (Y) next to any candidate you feel would make a good CPM1 member. You don't have to restrict yourself to just your top 7. Include any that have impressed you enough that you would be confident in their ability to do the job well. Go back and edit your post if you change your mind, or new candidates join the race. (Editing your post is easier for me to keep track of when I do the summery, than reposting.)

I'm glad that at least they all know what New Eden is all about.
All PC is.....a congregation of up-jumped FPSers with the self entitlement to believe they have the capacity to steer a game to their own benefit....ignoring what it is to be a game set in New Eden....
Zatara seemed like he could have been a decent PC player rep...... what happened to him? Also pretty sure more than half of them do or have done PC matches recently.

Zatara is still running, his app is just taking a bit longer to process through IA but it is my impression that it should clear without issue once the process is complete. (Disclaimer: I am in no way in a position to make an official comment on this, I just know Z hasn't dropped out and is still has an active app pending approval).

Zatara is the only one of applied candidates (accepted, rejected, in limbo) that has a greater number of PC battles under his belt than me, I'm fairly certain both of us have played several hundred matches more than the next most experienced.
Reiterating who the experts are in this one would also be a good idea. Wednesday well have all the candidate names?

PC the mode itself maybe broken but if you balance for pubs you break the use of that playstyle/weapon/suit/vehicles for PC completely where it becomes a disadvantage to even use it |

Exactly, people say "PC" because that is the only real time you see two whole teams in the best gear they can use. What it really means is that you're balancing proto vs proto instead of balancing all three tiers against all three tiers simultaneously. Balancing for pubs means you trying to balance a proto Amarr Sentinel with prof 5 HMG against MLT gear. Or a basic Gal-Scout against a Proto Cal-Scout. or a tank with complex modules against STD swarms.

I have been approved as a Candidate. If you feel you want someone who has played the game quite a bit and PC extensively then I hope you consider me as one of your votes.
I could be mistaken, but I do believe i'm one of the most consistent players of PC.
I do see the value in top down balancing. And I also see how after down down balancing you must also balance to make sure disparity between the meta and the newbro must be balanced. You cannot have general satisfaction until you balance for for sides of the equation. At least, this is what i currently think. I could be quite wrong.

This is my current list. I was completely unable to break the 7-only mark, and ended up with 9 Candidates getting my definite thumbs up.
Before anyone gets their noses out of joint, I would like to point out that I was unable to flatly say 'no' to any candidate either. Each and everyone running shows a passion and fortitude for the job that makes me think that we will have a great CPM1 whether my 'list' are selected or not.
When it came down to it, I had to pick a team that would, in the first case, support DUST 514 and try to improve on it where community support cannot be solicited, but also have key knowledge and design input into Project Legion should it come forward. Things like User Interfaces, New Player Experiences, Gameplay Dynamics, Community Features, and a lot more.
While anyone in the list above could fill many of these roles, and I would be assured that if I were elected with any combination I could easily work with them all, I had to make 'hard calls' in trying to cut the list down and select the people I thought fit best for the job to be done in CPM1, which is going to be a very hard slog.
The people I have not said yes to this year around, I truly believe that you have some great input to go into the game however it falls.

Takiro, what place do you have to judge as both a player who has not done PC for a while and who is mediocre at best?
PC in the old days when it started were the best days, more corps and players intrested in it
When i did PC it was during the EON days, fought in 3 wars and at a minimum did at least 500PC battles if not more for a solid 6+ months while being a tanker in the majority of those matches during 1.0-pre1.7 so i was underpowered as **** going against OP AV but also against the best vehicle users at the time where i easily held my own.
PC i rarely do anymore, ive basically stopped playing this game plus my corp is dead after the 'rouge wedding' and even now PC is meh since its all about who can hold hands and blue up
The fact is there is very few on that list who has done what i have done and experianced the full game, only Zatara has done more in PC than me i would say and basically nearly everyone else is a pub player at best so when ive done more that the majority of the CPM candidates have then thats already a bad sign
I could say the same to you? who are you? but really i dont give a **** and if being a top tanker in pc is mediocre at best then how bad are you, fact is i know what im worth so do the ppl who picked me to tank for them so stay mad

Taka I promise you can trust me to make sure to do everything in my power to protect PC players.
I want dust more than anything aside from immersion to boast a strong competitive scene.
If I'm elected the counsel won't struggle for the opinions of the competitive community.
I will be heading right back to the hundreds I've been playing with and against for over a year to get feedback.
