Bye everyone.
I just hit the famous last nail in the coffin.
After 30 minutes of play today I actually wanted to get up and do the dishes, which says it all.
Dust was a mediocre lobby shooter at best, but that is as far back as Chromosome, its been going steadily down hill since then.
I will probably not see any of you in Legion, the combined effect of CCPs programming skill and their business ethics have turned me from a fanboy, a paying customer (a lot I'm afraid) to a bittervet full of remorse, I wish I had taken certain people's advice all the way back a year before the release of closed beta when a bunch of guys proclaimed that Dust would suck, you where right, my missplaced hope was clearly wrong.
- I don't blame the "old" PS3 console for this, after all; I did experience MAG lagfree with 256 player battles with far superior, well, come to think of it, everything. I could always make a list... Nah wait, the nade tossing mechanic in Dust is spot on, better than MAGs, but every other aspect of MAG was clearly a lot better. Its not the tech, its the dudes tring to make the tech work....
I am also pointing a fingrer at the community - I've never seen a community with so little average skill and dear I say "lack of good sportsmanship" in my entire life of online gaming. I'm not an especially good player, almost blind, old and slow, still I can get on top of the list in terms of kills in most Dust games. Its not because I'm any good, its because the lot of you have little to no gungame. The amount of people not caring about winning, the amount of people camping either behind the redline or on top of something is simply staggering, not to mention all the tryhard FOTM chasers always taking the route of least resistance. You all suck.
To CCP: The level of incompetence you have shown baffles the mind. You should all hang your heads in shame. If you produced the same level of quality at my workplace, I would fire you a long time ago, thats a simple fact. Perhaps you're better off keeping to your "point and click in space"? A shooter needs proper balancing, which Dust haven't been close to at all. I do however suspect that this is by design due to players flocking to the new hot toy, all to boost sales. This is a fundamentally flawed cocept IMO. There is also the problem of getting the core mechanics working properly, this has also never happened, Dust looks and feels more like a beta than a proper game, which says a lot after a full year of beta and a full year after release.
The game is now deleted off my PS3, I will buy a PS4 soonTM and start to play proper games again, not this drivel.
No you can't get my isk, I will take my 5.2 ish B isk with me to the grave....

also, **** you my gungame is fine. I've never used scrub tactics, I don't "chase" the FOTM. I'm a scout I've always been a scout or a tanker(chrome/precursor). don't lump me in with them.

Meh, I've only been the boss and contract dude for TRE ringing in PC for 7-8 months through various wars, we have been payed an estimated 20 B isk during that time, but lets assume that no one skimmed the top of every payment and stashed it in their private piggybank for all of that time ok? (We have had 2 payments of 1 B isk and several, I mean really a lot for 200-500 M, and off course payments for the individual battles as well.) Some are good at the shooting, and some are good at the meta game, an obvious example would be kain....
I'm not gonna re-install Dust just to get you a pictue, so lets all just assume it didn't happen, its probably better for all involved...

I believe the reason for the low gun game comes from COD and Battlefield.
People are used to only have to keep your aim on target for a split second, and even that is done to you by a "snap on" aim assist system.
In DUST after the initial aiming you still have to track the target.
Hell before aim assist the vets were like gods in public matches, since the average blueberry couldn't aim for ****.

Thats hard to tell, I dunno much about it. It seemed to me to be a 4 man co-op shooter, and squad based open world PVP? If thats the case then I'm not interrested.
PS2 with its large scale PVP seems to be more my thing, but I dunno, it seems a little too cartoonish and Zerg based, I will definately test it though.

I've been playing PS2 lately on the PC, and personally I find it to be an enjoyable experience. The zerg is quite common but it's bearable. I'm not sure cartoonish is quite fitting, though - it seems so initially but after actually playing I've not really found that word applicable to it.
