Seriously, Scouts, in my opinion, are the hardest to kill. Before the cloak they were much easier but now it's getting ridiculous. Proto scout + proto cr + cloak = op. Not only could they be pretty much anywhere without you noticing but in a 1v1 the only way I could kill them is with a shotgun or with have your sensitivity really high up due to their stafing.
I've had my sensitivity to 80 and not be able to a single round on them, at the time I had my Logi ak.0 with six kin cr. They're like roaches, running toward the action, leaving, coming back from a different hole, running away, and repeating. Any advice? |

don't wander off alone, stick with a group. going solo is the easiest way to get targeted by a scout because it's a quick n easy kill for them. general weakness for scouts are splash damage, hmgs n situational awareness

Remain calm. Scouts will use their agility and speed to unnerve you. So jumping will probably be a part of their offensive. Follow the target, don't just spray and pay, only shoot when your reticule goes red. This can cause some scouts to go from offensive to defensive.
Try shooting a scout while he's cloaked to get the mental advantage over them. It's like using a fly swatter on gnats, you can't just swing wildly, you have to be patient and pick your swings.

AOE weapons will crush scouts. Get an MD, Flaylock, or PlC and hit them when they are running by you. You just have to see the shimmer. Funny how many scouts you'll kill with splash alone, at the very least you send them running away.
Really not seeing how you are failing to kill with your CR. A Pro CR in any capable hands is probably OP. |

Another scout with any weapon A sniper An hmg Knives Grenades REs A CR A RR A tank, both rail and blaster A mass driver An smg A magsec A scrambler pistol An ads with XTs will one shot most scouts A shotgun The ScR still melts all scouts The AR still melts caldari and minny scouts A plasma cannon The splash or direct hit of a forge gun Murder taxi
I compiled this list from things that have killed my Caldari Scout just this week. I'm most ashamed of dying to the plasma cannon. He shot me with a direct hit while I was shooting another red so props to him.
But frankly just about everything can kill a scout. If you are having trouble than you should improve your aim and your situational awareness.
Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.

I think that you should play as a scout for little bit in order to understand them. I have a gallente logi and a caldari scout (also a minmatar scout but, I'm not very good at using him for whatever reason). Scouts are very weak so they have to pick their targets. I mean for the most part. So they will pick on the easiest target. once you lay scout for a little bit you will start to see what target to pick on and which ones to avoid and more importantly you will understand how to approach your target. SO, how does this translate to you? Simple, once you understand them you will know what to look for. You see a heavy suit will rush right through the door where as a scout will try to sneak in. You start thinking, if I where a scout where would i come from to get in here and that is exactly where he will be.
As an example, lets say that you are up in a high place on top of a building. Well, you know that a heavy will not try to climb that ladder because you will see them long before he even starts to climb. A scout however, can sneak in. So ofcourse if you are in a high place then every now and then take a look at that ladder. Another example. Lets say there is an open field in front of you and a building box to your left. The scout is not going to go right through the middle of the field because you will see him and you will kill him. A heavy might risk it but not a scout. Now that box to your left looks mighty tempting for the scout so keep an eye out to your left.
In short if there is a way to sneak around and get to your position then that is exactly where the scout will come from.
Ok, but even with eyes at the back of your head a scout can still get through so what do you do? You need a fast shooting weapon. an AR works pretty well as well as a leveled up smg. The reason is because the scout doesn't have a lot of Health so it only takes a few shots to kill them. An AR shoots fast enought to kill most of them. On the other hand the rail rifle sucks for killing scouts. The reason is that the short range damage is too low and the gun shoots too slow. If you have two weapons one being the rail rifle and the other one being say an smg or a magsec you might be better off using the smg or marsec.
Also, when you see a scout walk backwards and traffle. This will create some distance which will reduce the damage done by the shotgun which might be enough for you to get a few rounds in.
Finally, the best advice is the one everybody keeps saying. Stay in a group. 1v1 a scout has an advantage once he gets close in. However, when a scout tries his luck against a squad with mikes the tables get turned very quickly. If you still get shot one of your friends may be able to revive you . |

Scouts are the best suits for lone wolfing in.
If you're lone wolfing and not a Scout, you need to be better than the Scout to perform as well.
If you're not a Scout and willing to stick with a squad, cover your squadmates' backs, and they'll do the same for you. Scouts are primarily dangerous when they get behind you. If there is no behind you that isn't also in front of someone else, that doesn't work so well. |

To be honest, running into a scout is getting to be just like running into a heavy always has been: the OH ****!! moment
And I don't see where that's necessarily a bad thing.
But a lot of the time I find that if they can't beat my gun game, I'll still finish off a full proto CR scout, even with my advanced logi and a GEK.
So in response to the OP: My advice is get better at your gun game. You've got more HP than the scout, especially with an Amarr medium, and the same weapon as them. Why are you not blaming yourself?

Or if you're a Gal Logi you'll already know he's not there.
Anyway I like your post. I have never had enough time to seriously try being a scout so it's enlightening to hear it from their perspective.
Pretty much the ONLY reason I want to become a scout eventually now is because of the cloak. Otherwise it used to be too much of a ragdoll pushover.
