As it seems almost certain that development focus is going to be turning away from Dust514 in favour of developing Project Legion into a successor, it is inevitable that future updates for Dust514 will be increasingly reduced in scope as the features which may already be in development are finished and teams transition to new things.
With this in mind, I think it would be a good idea for the community to compile a wish list of 'little things' features that would improve the existing game without requiring large development efforts. It is even possible that things on this list could feed into Project Legion.
Shall I start?
1) Implement the two missing 'racial' heavy weapon systems to complete the set.
2) I would really like a comparison tool so that I can easily compare stats of the different variants of weapons, equipment, dropsuits etc.
3) Could be a lot of effort for a 'little thing', but a feature similar to EVE's ISIS skill map system that recommends which skills are useful to train for each role (and race) would be great for new players. Yes, I live in hope Dust might yet attract a few new players. :P
4) Add an RSS feed to announce new dev blogs and news pieces. I have no idea why EVE has lots of these and Dust has none I've ever been able to find!
5) I had something else in mind but my wife just distracted me and now I've lost it. :/
Ok, over to everyone else. What are your little quality of life fixes?

Rip out the vast majority of NPC corps, and restrict battles to a handful of solar-systems at time. Let us get to know where we are fighting, and who we are fighting for, for a few days or weeks at a time. Then deploy a small patch to move battles to a new war in a new system with a couple of new NPC corps, again for a few weeks. Repeat.
Combine this with some small news articles on the forums announcing the start/end of the wars with a bit of back-story.
"Remember that fight we had a couple of months ago with the laser-rifle sentinals? During the Imperial Armaments offensive on Hek I think it was."

Thanks for making this list. Just a few comments (from my limited understanding)
1) This isn't a 'little thing' by any stretch - I believe weapons take about 3 months to make! (and this is just from an Art perspective)
2) A comparison tool would be great, but the UI is currently limiting us in game. I'm not sure how we would go about doing this currently on the PS3 and make it look shiny.
3) Skill map would be great. Perhaps the best way is to try to create guides for players outside of game.
4) An RSS is a super good idea. I'll try to find out how this gets pulled through for EVE and what we can do to make sure we're on the same level.
5) This is a big thing.

I was kind of hoping that work might have been started already and someone could be nudged to finish it off! ;)
Also I harbour this hope that it might be vaguely practical for assets to still be made for Dust and ported over to Legion.

Doing a weapon is far less than three months. You can buy other people's art and the rights to use it for the same price it takes the manpower to make it and significantly less.
My little things:
1) The game is ending so there should be some sort of end game content. I think there should be some major contest of some sort similar to the 2 million kills where every player gets 10 mil SP and every new player starts with 10mil SP. Let's all proto stomp. It's fun. Let's create a going away experience worth a damn. Highly experienced player don't need the SP and new players desperately need it. It's a win for everyone.
2) Hybrid (non vis) modules. An example would be something that does both Cardio and KinKat. No tiers and no skill requirements. Something like 4% increase in sprint speed and 25% increase in stamina level and recovery rate.
3) New map. My understanding is there are maps that were in Beta that were taken out. I never experienced them. It would be nice to be able too.
4) Re-introduce BPO's. It's stupid not to at this point. It's free money to CCP. The demand is quite high.
5) A 3 day sale of officer weapons whether it is AUR or ISK or LP or whatever
6) DON'T BALANCE AV. Whatever you do don't touch it. It's fine as it is and please don't listen to the people that suck at AV on this. Anyone is welcome to roll with me and my corp mate to see how to AV properly.
7) I would LOVE it if there were some special contract events where bounties are placed and things like that either randomly or by CCP's discretion....in game. Maybe guaranteed salvage or isk or LP (300 pts for all factions) or SP or whatever. Special Contracts....do it!

i want to get the biggest issue addressed. Which is, Not being able to CANCEL BEING REVIVED!!. There is 'Call For Help' and next to it should be 'GET THAT DIRTY MILITIA NEEDLE THE HELL AWAY FROM ME!(Terminate Clone)'. It has to be the most annoying thing out there to be picked up repeatedly, i know cos iv'e received multiple hate mails, From just standing there and letting a militia guy pick him up i shoot him he picks him up again (Reload,Repeat). I won't shoot the guy with the needle, aslong as he don't shoot me ;). But still we need to be able to cancel that man.

5) This is a big thing. 1)It is actually a "little thing". Maybe a "little thing" that should've been started before the game was 2 years old. 2)What's not a roadblock for that rag tag bunch of so-called developers in Shanghai? Why can so many other games accomplish what CCP set out for Uprising without too much trouble? Call SOE and find out how they got all of the features we wanted into that piece of **** DCUO? 3)In-game tutorials. Still can't grasp the concept? The community has provided you with a wealth of ideas to build from, pick one. 4)Meh. 5)Set Tranquillity on fire.
You guys don't want to do the work. That's the problem. If it requires any bit of toil it gets pushed back until you just claim that it's not possible or blame it on Sony as a problem that only CCP cannot correct while every other real game developer is cashing checks for doing what you claim isn't capable of being done.

Largest of the 'Little things' to add to Dust for me are:
1) Include all the stat's for items and how they are affected by skills in the fitting menu, for example
Shield Depleted Recharge Delay, still missing Shield Recharge Delay Sig radius Scan radius Scan Res
infact all that are on Vehicles and Dropsuits
2) Vehicle Locks
Was said to be being worked on in a Dev Blog, perhaps its not that far away
3) a simple liquidate asset function,
so you can sell your unwanted salvage / items back to NPC's
as per normal I expect this to fall on deaf ear as the saying goes but gotta try I guess

A simple trade system.
We can already send and recive isk. So it can't be much of a stretch to do items. Perhaps not bpo items, but really why not? If there is some kind of road block to using the same code used for isk. Perhaps you could implement a permanent chat channel to each account.
That character is in it by default. If you want to trade either you or the other person sends an invite. once accepted both persons main screen goes to their assets. To be clear both can use it just like a normal chat channel. you can open and close it like normal. But there can only be two players total in it at a time.
Okay one player closes chat and selects an item from their assets screen. this opens a POP up where they input the desired amount of that item to trade. this reopens the chat window and posts the it. This shows just like a chat message but is formatted (player name) offers: ITEM NAME x 001. To be clear the 001 is the number obviously. Again obviously the number must be at least 001.
The other person then does the same thing. Which posts their offer in the same manner. once both have an offer up a prompt posts in both chats. DO YOU ACCEPT? (Y/N). At this point either it is or is not accepted. If it is not accepted by either side then the old info is forgoten by the system. But the posts are kept in chat. And the process can start again.
Once finished the invited player can leave chat or be kicked. Keep in mind that the player whose chat it is can kick the other at any time. This will nullify any deal in the process of being made. Once the other player is out of the channel all posts are erased.
Okay it does not sound too simple but it actually is easier to implement than it seems.
I am nobody.
