Seriously, it's going to be hilarious when all the spaceship-flying EVE players download Legion. I was a PC gamer until just 11 months ago when my gaming rig shat itself, and I got a PS3 and happened onto Dust. For 7 years before that, I was playing Counter Strike and Alliance of Valiant Arms, and many others. Oh, also UT and UT2004.
When the capsuleers log in, they're going to encounter a rude surprise, in the form of well-honed gun game that will send them crying to CCP for aim assist and keep them out of Legion's PVP for months or years to come. In terms of this, it doesn't matter if CCP shafts us and doesn't bring over our SP or assets- we'll still have an advantage that they'll never overcome.
Who else has years of KB/M FPS experience that they're just dying to bring to bear on smug capsuleers?
Don't let CCP forget their mistake.

I was a PC gamer who used a controller. I was also a competitive quake 3 player who has won tournaments. The eve player have little chance.

Counterstrike(since beta)/UT99 veteran and Eve player since 2007.. Count me in ;)
The entire idea of Dust was that Dust players should be able to attack/sabotage planetary installations of eve players, extract "protection money" or just be terrorists if we wanted :) |

If worst comes to the worst and I get Legion and can use my DS3 with it, could be mildly entertaining.
I will be the only player to Prototype every single god damn weapon before Dust dies. I swear to it.

You do know that EVE players don't JUST play EVE, right? When nothing is going on, people are playing CS, ARMA, Battlefield, etc. with their alliance/corp. FPS are nothing new to most of them. |

tbh i actually can't wait just for this reason alone! i just finished a 4 month build of a PC in preparation for star citizen and this is getting me more excited lol. I can't wait to see them qq on how they can't auto lock onto targets like they do in eve. and the ones that are here on dust that suck, think if they move to a pc they will become godz at the game and the skillz they lacked before will suddenly flourish from thin air. It's going to be fun!
edit: thats prob the 1 thing i was disappointed with eve was the targeting system.. theres' no skill to dogfighting except orbiting your opponent and clicking on boosters. |

I'll be using every FOTM to make them **** through their ears.

see this is why anyone interested in legion should start making demands to CCP for a free lifetime subscription. since we put so much work into the BETA. its probably the least the could do. seeing as the player base from dust is so small and even smaller now, and i'd say only a fraction of the players will move over. cant see why it would be such a big deal |

Dear everyone. The DS3 can be made work with the PC (though it does take a little time and effort). While I believe you will all be better with you hands on a mouse and keyboard (PC Master race), that option should be available for you if you wish. Alternatively, the wired Xbox 360 controller, or DS4 will work on PC too, and the wireless 360 controller has a dongle you can purchase, but it's expensive.
Oh, and it's not like people on PC have never played an FPS. We kind of had them first, have a better way to control them, host tons of high profile competitions worth tons of money in prizes, etc.
If anything, controller players are going to have a hell of a hard time. I would say get some mouse and keyboard experience in now, its a far better scheme for FPS games in general. |

I support the DUST fps side of things but, as a former EVE player (though very casual and nowhere near as serious as the core of EVE players) I must say that EVE players will beat you into the ground with the meta-game, forcing you to have to try harder rather than play smarter.
Legion is looking to be EVE on the ground. The warfare will be emergent from the political meta warfare play of EVE.
I hate it will be more of that rather than the straight up instant, simple warfare model of DUST butGǪ
