I would've rather you guys and CCP would've just come out and said what they were doing months ago rather than making all of us look like complete morons at FF and in the rest of the gaming community. That way we could have at least decided what we wanted to do instead with moving to other games and a lot of us certainly wouldn't have bought all those now useless extra boosters.
Now the fact that all of you guys knew this, I cannot believe the gall of IWS (I have absolute zero respect for that guy now given his recent posting). Hey, now I know Kain's action as to why he created the massive donut.
I guess I also completely fail how you can think that a very angry at being taken advantage of and partially confused player base is "amusing".
Also got some advice for ya. Keep trying to sweep this whole thing under the rug like it wasn't a big issue, and you'll keep making people more angry.
Now a very angry and Bitter Vet. CCP, you have further solidified my views that corporations are corrupt POS's.

This is quite worrisome Nova Knife. I am going to speak very frankly because I don't love this game, I love what it was promised to be: "why the holy hell was this unveiled the way it was?" Because, right now, we do not know if DUST 514 is getting ANY kind of love from the developers. When the keynote is only about Legion and the DUST 514 progression speech was only about Legion we are left wondering if we are the only ones caring about a now doomed project.
Even if the "we were trying to make the impact less insane" is true, why should we trust anything from CCP?

Thank you for the well written blog.
I just want to say, first and foremost, that I'm excited for Legion. It looks and sounds like what we were originally sold on, and it seems like the only logical step forward.
The issue, as you mention, was how they went about it. The complete lack of information regarding our DUST characters and Legion. That feeling of hopelessness that DUST as is, will never ever become much more than it is right now. I've obviously been fanning the flames a bit (what sig?) but at the same time I feel that it's deserved right now. I mean, I can't imagine how bad it must have felt to fly all the way out there for DUST, only to have to sit through that keynote.
I would definitely advise against biomassing if you intend to check out Legion though, just in case.

You're not alone. We bugged and pushed for the announcement to come much sooner, and it was supposed to. But well... **** **** happened that messed that plan up and the announcement was pushed back.
Don't think we haven't given CCP endless **** for this pisspoor, awkward messaging, and especially the naming of the presentations. It was going to be awkward anyways, and we urged them to just call them legion presentations and just be upfront and honest, and throw in some smaller dust presentations too for the people who wanted to see them.

TL;DR
Legion will be what Dust should've been. Dust will get no significant updates until we're closer to the release of Legion and Dust will be shut down. In the meantime CCP just wants to milk the Dust players as much as possible.
The above was confirmed at FF and especially on livestream minutes ago where CCP Praetorian regarding specific future updates on Dust he answered: " Uhhh we can always do perfomance fixes and uhhh I guess we can add in some more weapons and uhhh we'll probably do some bugfixes too". Translated that means "We don't care about Dust anymore, you won't see any significant progress anymore, now go buy some more boosters until Legion is out".

Thanks for trying NK, just make sure that you and CCP doesn't forget about us. We've supported the game for years, (year and a half for me, longer for others) we will not let that time go to waste and be for naught.
Bottom line, Name and SP transfer minimum. That's the least we deserve. Ps4 version should come, there was a reason they brought it to Ps3, and that was to reach to a different audience, a different one, not to keep the universe among the same people.

If they could just confirm that progress transfers to Legion, then at least players who intend to stick around for it could still benefit from those purchases.
But what about new players who come into this game thinking that it will last? Reading the description on PSN or the DUST site, simply assuming that the game will continue to be updated? It's that kind of stuff that really irks me, and puts a very bad taste in my mouth.

Yep, they certainly need to confirm this.
My fear is that if it can't happen upper management will keep it secret for as long as possible to further milk the Dust players because no one will keep playing if they know they can't transfer that to Legion.

Furthermore Nova, I know CCP has told you Dust will still see progress, but there's just no way that's going to happen with only a skeleton crew working on Dust (hell, we don't even know if there's still people working on Dust since they had nothing to show at FF).
If you really think Dust will see anything other than bugfixes and the like you're really delusional. I don't care what CCP has told you guys, but they're lying so that they can keep milking Dust players.

Ohh ****....I actually had hope that maybe Dust wasn't going to get scrapped. I read the post and clicked the link, thinking that ok maybe CPM could clear up some misinterpretations. But reading this thread only made it worse.....this transition WILL happen and there WILL NOT be anymore additions on dust for the playstation.
I wasn't going to call Sony but I will definitely now. Not because I spent aur in the closed beta and so forth. But because CCP just released new events in the market with boosters, 60% reduction on weapons, etc. This like 3 events in one month all to rob us before we realized they were killing the game at fanfest.
I absolutely feel robbed now and I want the money back that I just spent for these last series of events. Was only $20 but I could use that for something else in the ps store for entertainment,.

That being said, it's the same routine over and over again. Transparency is coming soon, they're listening, just wait. I'm not blaming you for that (or the rest of the CPM) I know it's out of your hands and you tried. But I just can't believe CCP would knowingly disrespect their community like that. It's not Legion itself, it's the way they went about it. They need to address it immediately. They've deeply hurt a large portion of this community and the longer they wait the worse it's going to get. |
