After todays Keynote, you have indeed justified the thought of, for the last two years, you have had console players beta testing a PC game designed for EVE players exclusively. I know you guys read the forums, a lot of players feel abandoned by this call of Project Legion. Again, I completely understand your motivation to make this game something. But by practically telling the current Dust community, that you are giving up on the console scene is a PR move that can not be justified. The foreseen future of this game is in your hands now, it was never a game designed by the community which is something you guys cherished your proclamations in. There has been fixes due to sparked interests in the community, do not get me wrong on that aspect. The current forums are filled with rage and anger for what everyone was excited for. We had no idea what we were excited for except to get to hear some new development about Dust which we were quickly silenced in confusion. You asked for feedback via your Twitch stream, this is my feedback. Probably something you did not want to hear, but I am truly being honest when I am saying, you are making a huge mistake with current events, and I do hope that there is something in those brains that will keep us enticed. You also mention that we may not be able to transfer characters from another thread, if that is true, that is even yet another reason people would quit. I will not say everyone will leave, but me personally being the CEO of a corporation that holds the most veterans in this game, I can exclusively say you have put a foul taste in our mouth. I really hope a DEV responds to this, to at least show the community you want to care. Sorry for all the negativity, again, I am just being honest and hope you would understand why. Leaving your console players behind is cutting your resources easily in half if not more. Dust needs to go competitive for it to stride to even bigger heights than anybody would imagine. It can be done on PC, sure. Publicity sake, Dust would be a revolution for FPS games on a console. It would be the new Halo so to speak. Personally I will make the move to PC when the time comes, and I do hope to see you in New Eden again, but for now DUST will become a hobby shooter for me. Let me spend oh 2 seconds thinking about it. 1) Char names easy add them to the new game first 2) isk transfer, convert and put in account and call it whatever isk , disk , l$ whatever, 3)SP same as isk convert and put in account, 4) loot a) convert to dust isk equivalent and then convert to new game isk b) convert to new game items 5) AUR same 6) BPO same if have in new game, if not convert to aur and then convert aur to new game. Now for code, ummm lets see oh I know lets us the scripts we use for respecs they work and poof everything is done! Now lets deal with Sony, if their truly is a policy question about who owns this stuff ccp vs sony (which I doubt their is) then ccp could still do all of the above except for item 1) and still be legal. Now lets see them try and tell us how hard this would be and see them double speak to us!

I came into Fanfest this morning feeling excited and uplifted. After that debauchery they had the gall to call a "DUST 514 Keynote", I instantly lost all real investment in this game. Why play a game that even the developer is trying to sweep under the rug and replace? I feel like I've been used, and lied to. Why even say you're going to have a DUST Keynote if all it is is talking about a new game? just say "secret panel" or something. By putting "DUST 514 Keynote" on all the schedules, you falsely got our hopes up. which is why a lot of us feel lied to. I personally won't be around much longer either. Summer is coming up, and with it a plethora of new titles. Your timing is bad CCP. and I hope you realize you made a mistake some day. Enjoy your beloved PC consumer base, though.

Trust that is broken is hard to if not impossible to regain. Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

I posted a thread with this 3 days before this Dust keynote and hit it spot on. On a business perspective it is unwise to pour resources into a game that they were seeing little return from since our player base was so low. The NPE for this game is complete garbage and was non-salvageable for the resources CCP has. No reason to spend alot of money for the sake of ~1000 consistent aurum buyers. Only way to fix the NPE easily......is a fresh start. They've learned from their dust 514 project. Even it they do find a way to transfer characters, whats going to happen? The NPE is going to be crushed again and their marketing strategy for Legion will fail. From previous post 3 days ago: "I could see from a marketing standpoint that it (Legion) will be stand alone from Dust, meaning a fresh start from scratch. Dust 514 I feel was an experiment to hype the EVE universe which is their main source of income. In turn, did not turn up the best way possible and had only like a 1% retention of players whom created accounts. Most FPS vets don't want to come in at a HUGE disadvantage (SP) when their normal routine for a FPS is to excel from the start. So in the effort of having much greater population: Would you play and level a merc ALL OVER AGIAN if by then the game was worked on and made better?"

Its not the starting over part, its the not trusting CCP to not screw you over again and again. I wholeheartedly agree, but from a legal perspective, CCP owes you nothing as long as they say they are supporting Dust 514 on PS3. I do hope they compensate old dust players, who continue on to Legion, somehow.
