There will be nothing to transfer. ISK will balance differently. There will be no matching Skill Tree. There will be no similar equipment and there will be tie-ins to EVE and VR.
Petition all you want. There is nothing that will cross over to a completely different game. They hacked this game to death and never could get it to work. The Dev Blog announcing Legion basically said they cannot fix it so they have decided to start over. Which means, your post is a wasted effort. Sorry.
If there is little or nothing to transfer, then they had best make sure that we get SOMETHING for the investment of money and time into this game.
They say they are commited to keeping the progress DUST 514 has made... basically a series of hotfixes and the possibility of bringing Legion features to DUST "if possible". However I doubt DUST 514 will survive any longer on hopes, dreams, and the promise of 'possible' upgrades that we know Legion will get and more.
Once you go Black, you just never go back!

today is a sad day :( ... i enjoyed this game.... a lot.

If I can bring Demon to Legion, I will probably go to Legion. I love this game, and I want to experience what Dust should be, that's what Legion is going to be I hope. I don't want all this to be for nothing, all the time and money I spent on Dust I don't want it to be a waste.

So the past 2 years I've spent playing this game should count for nothing? THis includes the Real World money I've invested, the BPOs I've accrued, and this goes for everyone.
Legion is going to be an evolution of DUST 514, while they say they'll run DUST 514 alongside it for a time, maintaining one game that will dwindle it's playerbase dramatically in the coming weeks / months since now we have no hope that DUST will have the glorious future we were promised.
I've been playing since replication build in Closed Beta... the wipe at 'launch' of Uprising was a good one, since it went from being Closed to Open... Legion is set to be what DUST was promised us to be. Being able to take the time we have all invested, the AURUM investments, and our names to Legion is only fitting.
Once you go Black, you just never go back!

I believe that when I see it. As we noticed CCP isn't really big on promises.
But for now a official statement that we can transfer our chars would suffice. No "Not possible", no "we would like to but can't" no "We don't know how". This is stuff they should've figured out the moment Legion came to the table the first time.

A package of some sort or transferal of characters to the new Legion product is a must. It's the bloody least CCP could do for shafting their player base and forcing them onto PC to play their product.

My take.
Names should transfer.
Some form of SP should transfer. Given they are looking at role based progression I would consider transferring your most common suit used as well as some core type skills. Transfer too much sp effectively and you end up with a game that people feel they have no chance to get into because people have it locked up already despite it being 'new'
Isk should not transfer. Say hello to PC isk breaking Legion as well as already breaking Dust.
Assets should not transfer, but Aur items should be refunded as Aur
Aurum BPO's should not transfer, but be refunded.
Event/CE/Beta etc BPO's should transfer in some way, if they are smart they will build a 'skin' slot into all the suits from the start. That makes it very easy to allow all the things like Templar suits to be effectively transferred. While meaning you aren't even locked into any particular suit model with those skins since you can apply the templar skin to any suit and look epic. |

Why is everyone saying that this and that will not work, It was in plans to work just fine in Dust. It was all set to work !!! Give it a shot, I don't see why not. If It does not work then CCP can just **** us again.

This thread, and many other comments like it, was part of the reason they 'accelerated' the transfer announcements. This thread was posted up before any of those promises were made.
And the continued support only makes it more and more likely that CCP will HAVE to offer us transfers of some degree and fair reward for any time / cash investment.
Once you go Black, you just never go back!
