A +1 to passive armour reps to all dropsuits would help many suits which only have 1 or 2 low slots that normally get filled with a armour repairer. This would mean a shield based suit which has low armour an high shields can use a regulator or something to make him move faster or whatever. Anyone else agree with me? |

No armor reaping isn't supposed to be passive as is. gallente are the active armor tankers, if your shield suits get armor reps passively I want passive shield rep on my gallente suit.

I agree to a point with putting armor reps on all suits. But if I remember correctly logi suits use to have armor reps? Correct me if I'm wrong, but logis could use the 1+ armor repair since they can't hold too well in a firefight unless your'e a proto logi with insane gear. Maybe for assaults they can get .5+ armor repair |

Give all suits +1 armour reps - except Gallentee, which should be +2 (instead of the current +3).

Going to vehemently disagree with this idea. Innate armor repair should be kept in Gallente hands. That is their racial tanking style and it should be theirs alone. To review...
- Amarr - Armor: Massive amounts of armor HP
- Caldair - Shield: Massive amounts of shielding and shield regeneration
- Minmatar - Shield: Agile, fast. Low shield recharge delay
- Gallente - Armor: Innate armor repair
He imposes order on the chaos of organic evolution...

No.
Fitting should be about making hard choices. Wanna run high shields and stacked regs? Have fun with weak armor. Bring a repping hive or pray there's logis around.
I'd also support the Amarr getting some bonus to repair, but I'd strongly prefer that they just get a higher native armor buffer.
If the Gallente get about the bonus of a basic repper then the amarr should get the bonus of a basic plate. +85 hp on the medium suits before bonuses.

These suggestions are not unreasonable, especially given that Amarr have fewer low slots, on average, than Gallente (what? For the best armor race, Amarr?). However, if Amarr and Gallente low slots are normalized, or better yet, if Amarr gain +1 low, lose -1 high slot and Gallente lose -1 low and gain +1 high (both because their innate rep lowers the need for an armor repper (but their armor repair amounts would have to be buffed slightly) and the additional high is better for higher damage, a Gallente racial trait), then having a smaller (but still larger base than Gallente) Amarr armor buffer would be acceptable, since the overall theoretical maximum (taking into account the increased low slot) would be significantly higher than Gallente.

I don't see this happening at all, honestly, there are multiple ways to get reps, team up with a logi, throw your own triage down and circle it, run a repair module or run Gallente.

Agreed, fitting a compact nano hive is possible on almost any suit they are also very cheap and will give you a full repair and a few clips.

I'm honestly shocked that such a cruddy idea even get a blue tag on it. If I was Caldari or shield based, I would not be asking for armor reps, I would be asking about looking at shield extenders, shield regen, things of this nature, what your suits actually are all about, armor to a Caldari should not be an important feature at all, unless you've lost all of it and your shields as well and are 1 shot away from death. |

I just had a related thought: IIRC supply depots don't regenerate equipment. I think that's pretty ********. I can fit exactly one compact hive and can only have one active at any time. Why should I not have the ability to restock the damn thing? |

*sigh* I wish I saw this thread sooner, we already had a thread go into great detail on how to implement this as a skill.
Here's the thread, Passive armour rep skill
TL;DR? (Seriously? It's only 26 posts) OPTheD1CK wrote:I think the dropsuit upgrades menu is pretty bare.... A new Armour skill would be very welcome, so bear with me ... I'm not good at ironing these ideas
The skill would be passive armour repair, adds 1hp rep per second, per level the cost multiplier should be quite extreme to make l5 tough to obtain but this would give all suits the ability to have passive rep and keep low slots
the requirements should be
- Armour upgrades l5 - Armour plating l3 - Armour repair l3
I like this idea, if only I could make CCP see the light
BL4CKST4R wrote:No this would make the Gallente passive repair even more useless than what it is now.
BL4CKSTAR wrote:I really can't get behind this skill whatsoever. Let's say this skill existed let's compare a Gallente and a Caldari suit. Let's make them both dual tanked for the sake of argument. So the Caldari suit would have 500/500 and the Gallente would have 300/700. The Caldari has a 25 hp/s on shields and a 3 hps armor with this skill; the Gallente would get 15 on shields and 5 armor. This gives the Caldari an overall 28hp/s while the Gallant gets 20. The 15hps comes from the pattern presented in 1.8 drop suit stats. So not only would the Caldari get a better passive repair they also get better use of the repair due to a better balance in hp, shield suits already have better repair and can get the same HP asn an armor suit. This skill should not exist.
Ecshon Autorez wrote:5hp/s is too high for a blanket bonus from a skill, even if it's a massive SP sink.
.2 hp/s | 1 hp/s at level 5
.3 hp/s | 1.5 hp/s at level 5
.4 hp/s | 2 hp/s at level 5 | equal to 1 STD armor rep
Echson Autorez wrote:It'd be a buff to both armor and shield tankers. Armor tankers could get it for that 1 extra hp/s on top of all their other reps. Shield tankers could get it so they don't need to waste a low on a MLT armor rep or risk running around with half armor because of a firefight 5 minutes ago. Check out this post, they had a good module idea.

Passive armor reps would make sense, especially if you nerf plates. Armor tankers would need to use almost all their slots to tank or they can enhace their rep ability, shield tankers will not dual tank anymore but they will not be insta f.....ed when they survive with low armor.
Survavibility will increase while HP will decrease, it's not a bad idea at all.

I know it might make the min scouts Higher than 11ms at proto, but why shouldn't they be bloody hard to hit if the fastest suit is speed tanked and sprinting?
