Please evaluate and criticise honestly
Statement 1: The assault suits are seeing comparatively little action vs the commando suits at the moment.
Statement 2: The assault suits should be the rush suits that *assault* objectives
Statement 3: The commando suits should fill a specialized support role
Suggestion: Take away the commando suits +dmg bonus and give it to the assault suits. Give the commando suits +clip size and/or +range bonuses instead
As I see it, this would make the squishier assault suits be damage tankin' frontline troops while making the commandos suppressing fire support troops. There is something to be gained for the newbies as well since I believe most people like running damage fits - if assaults were more common than commandos, there would be less EHP to eat through to get a kill and it'd be plausible for a low SP player to do that with militia/standard gear if they play smart.
Thoughts? |

Sure, gal commando would get the short end of the stick in this change, but if you had a +clip bonus on the gal commando it'd still have a good nice role. Think of plasma cannons with 2 rounds in the barrel. Breach shotguns with more ammo. It'd have a role and the gal assault would not suck since the +dmg to AR it'd get would make it viable |

You could sort this out by removing slots from the assault suits and adding slots to the commandos. I disagree with viewing the commandos as damage dealers. Sure,that's where they are now, but as I argued above it's not where I think they should be - that should be the assault suits role.
Less slots does take away from player customization, but it also limits flavour of the month OP fits and are easier to balance.
As for the amarr assault - sure, the players that like the bonuses and their scrambler rifle won't be able to run it the same way on their amarr assault suits but the amarr commando would do the same job if the bonuses got switched around.
