And yeah, i expect a little larger damage radius when you dump a load of superheated gas on something. How does all that energy dissapate in such a small area so quickly?
Hhmmm, what about a remaining hot zone when a plasma shot hits terrain or structures? Small, incrementally decreasing damage to armor to those who come within, say, 10m of impact? Damage rate static across all tiers of the cannon.
Hopefully we can get someone in here to help fill in the numbers and flesh this out. Nice proposal! |

Fix the disappearing projectiles, non registering splash damage, and shots in mid flight not counting because I died before it landed, then let's see where we are. Also it may have been fixed but the skill bonuses not applying also crippled it pretty hard.
It reminds me of where the mass driver was several months ago with its hit detection issues. Great weapon when it worked but absolutely useless when it didn't. |

Give the PLC the Breach forge guns direct damage (or maybe a few hundred less) and keep everything else the same.
PLC already one shots most frames with a direct hit so buffing the direct damage shouldn't make it insanely useful against infantry, but make it a Close Quarters vehicle killer.

Direct hit damage! Flaylock could also do with this. In fact they should scrap the Swarm Launcher and replace with a direct fire, non-guided rpg, with some serious damage - to reward the ability to aim.
Unless I am just wrong about this. Because Dust is trying to be a tactical RPG (role playing game, not rocket propelled grenade) style shooter - maybe aiming isn't important! As for splash damage -no. Instead allow ragdoll corpses to inflict (upto) fatal damage and make the propulsive effect of the explosion 10X what it is (not damage). Now if you hit you have the chance to murder his teammates with his flying corpse. Same with tank and turret shells.

how is it not balanced? still underpowered, or maybe your afraid it will actually kill you once? also, its pretty simple to do in terms of programming. all you do is edit a few values in the code, and change the text of the skill books/weapon stats

Just increase direct hit damage and projectile speed. If you increase the splash damage or radius it'll be too effective against infantry and that's all people will use it for mostly instead of as AV as it is intended.

its the same splash radius bonus as the mass driver, and according to ccp, they are both launcher class

Have the projectile adhere to vehicles like AV grenades. The faster it's moving the more adhesion. If the vehicle is stationary there is 0 adhesion.

do you mean attraction or homing? adhesion just means sticking to something. however, av nade like homing would be useful, just not too high

I'll disagree because even a nice boost to splash means you will not kill most suits. And trust me you will never get another shot off. And no way in hell will you ever consistently direct hit suits that are moving.
To me, fixing the PLC starts with fixing the bugs. Switch weapon delay kills the weapon, and non registering splash eliminates it from true infantry use.
Thing is an abysmal AV weapon, damage over time has been discussed and I think that's a decent idea as long as it's enough to knock out reppers.
Speed up the projectile and make it ignore hardeners, then it's a niche useful AV that wouldn't be OP. |

It should be based on vehicle speed. So high amounts (something like within 5-10m) on a max speed LAV with injectors running, half that radius for half speed, 0 for stationary vehicles. You'll still need to get it very close to be effective, and it'll still require a lot of skill to do so, but it should make the PLC much more viable as AV, without making it OP vs. infantry.
It could probably use a small buff to projectile speed, it shouldn't prevent swapping weapons after firing like it does, and they need to fix the bugs related to hit detection as well.
