I see tons of heavys, but I only see like 3-6 scouts on the other team. I'm a cal scout btw so I can see most scouts passively. Most people I see are Amarr, Minmatar, and Gallente medium frames. I also see some caldari assaults (one in particular was quite good and made me bring out my scrambler rifle just to take him out).

Attention wh()res basically. People that love to complain and have a bunch of people to either back up they're thread and receive likes, or get set straight with the first comment.
Sidearm and Light Weapon Scout, I use 'em all.

As a scout and a hvy and a logi and a commando I can say I run into just as many fully teams of hvys and scouts (9-13 not truly full but close enough to feel like it)
It really matters more on a who your playing and the style of map ...
That being said the QQ nerf the scouts or QQ nerf the hvys or QQ there QQ'n threads are generally lead by those trying to over nerf the opposite of what they run ... much like the OP of this post ...
When just DS respecs were given knew this would happen those under the 30/40/50 mill sp marks were forced to pick a single suit the "smart" ones waited to find out what suit was the most OP be fore specing into said suits ... and now were dealing with it as a community

I see a fake gal scout, 2 proto gal scouts, and an advanced gal scout. Some games it's 2 proto cal scouts and 1 adv/basic cal scout and maybe 1 proto gal scout, but never more than that amount even when their protostomping. It's usually proto heavys with proto logis.

On my Combat Engineer ALT with an Active Scanner a good many of detected targets are clearly not Heavies.
It might be some people are encountering the same squad of scouts across multiple matches so they are getting the impression there are more out there.
That aside the "Spam" argument is often used to justify nerfing. All the biggest nerfs last year had people using it: TAC ARs, Flaylocks, Contact Grenades, Forge Guns, AV Grenades. The merits or specific details didn't matter. It's just one part of the political-nerfing this game suffers from and CCP's delusion they can nerf their way to balance.

Depends mostly on the map. A full team of scouts or heavies isn't surprising if the map is right.
It's much easier to notice the guy who killed you or at least put up a fight, while currently, I find the remaining mediums don't do.

Funny. Yesterday, the first 3 matches I played were against teams that consisted of nothing but scouts and if they weren't a scout they were tower snipers or in a tank. MMV, I guess.

If someone is in the city part of a map or the Gal Research Lab then more than likely they're going to see "a lot" of scouts since that's our stomping ground. Just as it is for heavies. Mediums have the advantage of being both an outside and city map player. Not to say that heavies and scouts can't fight on open maps, it's just easier for us to get closer to people in city maps.
Since 1.8 has came out, I've seen less scouts than before actually. I think people hate being squishy or they tank it but still hate about how they killed by squishy scouts. So now I'm seeing more Assaults running around...even some Minmatar. :O

People like hyberbole. As someone who plays scout much of the time, I shouldn't say this. However, CCP did buff a big ol' anti-scout weapon in 1.8. If you are tired of getting killed by us sneaky SOBs I suggest you put some SP and practice into MDs they are like scout Kryptonite as are trained eyes. The eye thing I'm not so great at, but plenty of people see through my cloak.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

It depends on map/gamemode, but unless RON1N or Nyan are playing its generally something like:
30% heavies (Sentinels and commandos)
20% Logis
20% scouts
15% Assaults
15% Starterfits
I feel bad to the starter fit guys - I tend to kill them the most, because on my solo uplink dropping/Hacking adventures, they are the guys randomly dawdling around on their own.
