A piece of equipment that you can place just like a hive or an uplink, that passively scans for a certain amount of time. Idk, 30 or 60 seconds? Maybe make them CPU/PG intensive to fit, like the cloak. Higher tiers would have lower scan precision and higher range (radius) Either this or a nudey mag I can place by ladders to distract sneaky enemies while i'm camping out with my laser rifle.

Wonderful idea for some e-war teach there. Would fit as a Gallente technology would be called a deployable scanner 10 seconds scan within 30-60 meters and a 15 second cooldown skilling into it would reduce the cooldown by 1 second per level or by 5%. Depending on the version you use. Flux proximity focused or quantum.

I'd love to see something like this tied into deploy able drones later down the line. Some good ole EWAR drones to scan and dampen areas of the map would be amazing.

Thanks, what would you say about the precision of the scan? The same across basic, standard, and proto? Or lower dB per level skilled?

i would like to suggest a slight change. call it like a sensor spike or something.
it would be a spike you can throw like a RE and would pulse 360 degrees at a range of up to 20-30 meters the pulse would be the same cooldown as an active scanner of the same meta level. the scan precision would also be the same as its active scanner meta counterpart.
also like an RE it can stick anything it touches minus other mercs.
just my two cence for what it is worth.
