Whats your anti-stomp tactic?

Hansei Kaizen The Jackson Five 119	Posted - 2014.04.13 11:19:00 - [1] - Quote Hi guys. A casual 20m SP dustie here. I just had my daily match, and got stomped again. So far so normal. Instead of de-pressurize by a juicy rant, I want instead to use my rage and hate and despair, and channel it productively. What is your best tactic, when you get stomped? Mine was so far to get into solo scout/sniper mode, keep putting an uplink infrastructure around a chosen objective and snipe guard it. If the enemy chooses another place to milk the team for WP and ISK, I make a quick hack and gtfo. So I want to die as little as possible, just to not give them the kills. In domination and ambush I dont see any chances, so the only thing left is sniping (now that the forge is a non-entity the only thing left for that is the SR). But I see that this is lame, so are there any other alternatives to go 1/15 and get so annoyed that you wont ever play again? The answer to your complaint is PvE. Always. If you are ever so inclined to play solo I recommend stealthy picking off playing running to/from objectives. As an alternative to this you could always spawn camp them at a CRU/uplink. Nothing upsets a protobear more than being spawn killed. Chances of you winning a match while playing solo is slim to none, unless you just so happen to be on a team with mostly full squads.

I never die getting ammo youve never had zatara sit...and wait... and perfectly time the dam thing just to kill you off before. i diddnt die... just lost the ship in that lag time before the afterburner kicked and and superlaunched me off the ground. me and my gunner survived teh OB to call in ship number 2 and finish the game with no deaths :P

Personally, in every match I use a Scout suit to set up uplinks with nanohives in locations that are suitable for blueberries to get into the fight without being spawn-trapped and also suitable for AV (hence the nanohives). When my team gets stomped I try to keep the HAVs from our home-spawn with an AFG and support any blue advances by periodically changing to an assault suit. If the next supply depot is too far away I'll just charge in with the AFG. CQC-Forgegunning can be fun. Generally the presence of a well positioned AFG is enough to keep the enemy HAVs from the top of the scoreboard which greatly reduces the effectiveness of the stomp.

Btw more stomping is good.. i lastly cant find good proto squads on other side :/. More proto (enemy side) means bigger payouts, more fun, also small amount of deaths (if you can play as a scout, 1-4deaths max)

Winning is not the important thing for me. I just want to have a fun fight. In my experience that is, the more even the match is, the more fun it is. And I have made a promise to myself: Never quit a match because of getting stomped. Find a way to adjust instead, find a tactic that is fun and viable. So today I didnt play solo, but that just made it worse, because the squad did tend to stick together and got wiped that much easier. 6 casuals < 6 proto-corpmates (molon labe, btw), every time. So guerilla seems to work better the more fragmented it is, because the only way to stand a chance is quick-hacking. Killing seems to be out of the question. The answer to your complaint is PvE. Step 2 is to think of a counter strategy within my means and then enact it. This can be something as simple as taking a sniper rifle to destroy hard to reach uplinks to cut off enemy reinforcements or painfully using your ADS as a decoy to keep the attention of 3-6 tanks off your infantry for the entire duration of the match. In the case where half or more of my team decides to give up and snipe in the redline, I show my proper respect to blue-tards and glue my crotch to their scopes until they are killed by counter snipers. Zoom in on this you bastards. Medium frame EHP is not medium

Meaning every death is paid in full. For the best effect use remote explosives, that REALLY pees them off. I have an advamced minmatar logi with MD, RE, F-45 RE amd Nanohives, to keep themexplosive goodness going, oh and contact grenades. Is a good opener! I enjoy squadding from time to time but usually when that happens, our side is too well established at the beginning of a match and it leads to redlining. When I solo, I always drop uplinks in the beginning of the match then switch to knife scout. On my Minnie I can OHK any medium or light with a charged swipe, whether they are proto or militia. And in many matches, if the other side is clearly stomping/redlining, they get overconfident and sloppy, allowing me to sneak behind them and slit some throats. REs are fun too. And jihad-jeeping if there are too many enemy tanks afoot.

It also makes you a smarter player. A stacked team against a crap team will very quickly get cocky and overconfident. And proto stompers that always run shoulder to shoulder are generally weak players. That's why they are always in proto gear and never more than 3m away from each other. Use this to your advantage. Set RE traps, attack them from the flanks. Kill the guy in the rear and run like hell. Isolate one, kill him and disappear. If you are on a crappy team, and you don't come in #1 on the killboard, you did not try hard enough. Gun control is not about guns...it's about control. The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.

Usually I grab my light frame UL suit and try to gtfo of the killbox and drop uplinks. Makes WP and helps to learn the maps better. I don't give a rat's ass about KDR and free suits allow you to push hard and make pure profit, with some better mods the suits are very good and cheap as hell. A gal starter with perfect armor skills can get like 500 HP in armor and cost like 10K. Run starter fits for a month and I promise that you will be richer and do better on the field when you go back to custom suits. Don't give up. "One of God's own prototypes.
