I guess I want to make one point with this thread to all newberries: Dont just run headless into the meatgrinder. Dont make gifts to the pub-stompers. Dont give them an easy farm. Be elusive. Give them a bleak and boring swamp of a battlefield. If the odds are stacked against you, work around it.

I just had my daily match, and got stomped again. So far so normal. Instead of de-pressurize by a juicy rant, I want instead to use my rage and hate and despair, and channel it productively.
What is your best tactic, when you get stomped?
Mine was so far to get into solo scout/sniper mode, keep putting an uplink infrastructure around a chosen objective and snipe guard it. If the enemy chooses another place to milk the team for WP and ISK, I make a quick hack and gtfo. So I want to die as little as possible, just to not give them the kills. In domination and ambush I dont see any chances, so the only thing left is sniping (now that the forge is a non-entity the only thing left for that is the SR). But I see that this is lame, so are there any other alternatives to go 1/15 and get so annoyed that you wont ever play again?
Drive around in a LAV, dropping links in weird places for points. Just lookin for that payout at the end!

Insurgency.
Ill leave miltia nanohives with REs stacked ontop of them in the path of the advancing reds. ill place uplinks at their rear so that my team will spawn and start capturing installations on the other side of the map. Any dropships/LAV I use are also outfitted with hidden REs as an theft deterrence measure.
Often, in matches like that, enemy ADS/tank drivers will have grown complacent towards the end of the match. So in the bottom half, I create fields of proximity mines, and then call in a tank. Most of these enemy pilots are not expecting a tank to be called in the final minutes, and thus, I can rack up damages on them fast.
And, as you can imagine, I plan my route so that my retreat takes me over my prox mine field. So if they start advacning on my retreat, I can get some kills like that too.
Just cause the match is lost does not mean all is lost. Yesterday i destroyed 1 million ISK worth of ADS/tanks in the last 3 mins of a Domination we were losing. It didnt change the outcome of the game, but it put a damper on their victory. Especially that ADS pilot. He was minutes away from going 14-0 with his ADS all game. 3 hits from a rail cannon sent him to the promised land lol. And likely put him in the red for that match. |

I pull out my explosives suit which is a 'Skinweave' minmatar medium suit with a mass driver, uplink and nanohives and then call in a dropship to get ontop of a building. Other players usually understand the plan and soon here is a bunch of people running for their suits from mass drivers, grenades and even plasma cannons. The fun usually last until the drop a Orbi on the building were on and the game usually ends soon after that. Its more fun than anything

Normally I use a Dropship with a Mobile CRU and an Active Scanner.
It allows my team to get places without being stomped, and we can quickly fly to objectives that aren't being well guarded. Not to mention that the gunners can also kill some of the people as well.
This means that if the stompers want to win, they have to split their forces around the different objectives, which weakens their defensive capabilities and allows us to push the guarded objectives easily.
The Active Scanner insures that I don't make the mistake of dropping allies into a trap.

sneak into their spawn area and shoot as many as you can. If you are good with RE's then this is even better.
Otherwise either find a squad, leave the match, or snipe/tank depending on how much isk you have to burn. |

Cloaky scout with SG, CR or RR depending on map, SCP as my sidearm. Sneak in, pick off the last one in the pack, run away. Generally they'll give chase- first one around the corner gets RE'd, then I run again and start from the beginning.
Alternately, cloak your way to an objective, hack and RE it up. They generally don't expect it. I've taken down 4/6 of a Nyain squad this way- got three with the RE on the objective, took a 4th with my BPO shotgun, got HMG'd down by the last two. Worth it.
Basically, play sneaky, use remotes, divide and conquer. There's no way you're going to win, so just try to hurt their K/D as much as possible.

I just never learn what proto stomping is. They got proto suits, I have proto suits, I use standard sentinel with militia gear, they use proto suits with proto gear, I don't cry if I lose my suits and keep relentlessly attacking mowing them down, just they normally get lucky there is a logi hiding in the back. I normally stay positive in my k/d even if I go through a lot of suit, my amarr sentinel suit is level 5 so I get all the resistance, my hmg is level 5 so I get all the kick, so I guess I'm just using one of the things that can stand up to proto suits with a suit costing only 6k.

That has worked for me. On Ambush OMS, the proto stompers can get so blood lusted, that they advanced out of a good position. All your team needs is a drop link in said good position (and flanking the enemy). Doesn't always work out, but frequently at least turns the battle from a stomp to a bad loss.

My thing is to spawn in a cloaked scout or logi with dampers and uplinks. Load different types of uplinks, so you can have more active at once.
Then go nuts putting the uplinks in places that allow my team to flank.

Damped scout with uplinks, cloak and a rail rifle. A shotgun is nice for blasting people, but you're going to end up dying a lot and not being of much utility to your group. If you can maintain uplinks at a couple defensible positions, you can usually keep your team from getting spawn camped/red lined. The rail rifle lets you pick at the enemies flanks and slow them down.

Circle around their front. Start at their closest points to their base. Take and kill all spawn points. With more emphasis on killing their equipment. Most protostompers use 3 second respawn drop uplinks which are more deadly than the CRU's and are usually in better places then the CRU's. There are usually clusters of equipment and you get +5 each. It can add up decently and still might trigger a swing in combat. |
