Making this changes:
- Reduce max deployable to 1
- Give more Health-points to equipment increasing by meta level
- Make it that equipment can be hacked
- No equipment slots for Assaults-Heavies-Sentinels-Commandos suites
- One equipment slot for Light-Scout-Medium suites
- 4 equipment slots for Logistic suites
Will give us this results:
- Reduce the number of equipment in the battlefield and make it more important to deploy it smarter and defend it.
- The logic can have his role back after the equipment nerf.
- Players without equipment slot can hack enemy equipment and take WP for the hacking and if a team member uses them.
- New players in Starter fits and Medium suites can get a role as semi logi to earn WP.

FYI,sentinels don't have equipment slots. And assaults/commandos need to be somewhat free to continue attacking.
Other than that,i see no problem with this.

Don't see why would you make such a radical changes... when you can just change the icons on the minimap to not cover too much, maybe when there many equipment in one place, it could be maybe solved by merging all of them into 1 or 3 icons next to eachother depends what kind of equipment there is, plus making them smaller.. It is just a visual problem, looks like you want to nerf an equipment... thats not a good solution.

The problems from equipment spam are not only lag,noise,icon spam. Afk SP farming.WP farming for OBs. How many times do you see a mounten of nanohives arround a supplydepo. No strategical reason only WP farming. The bad thing is that the guy who farms better WP without helping his team gets more ISK. |

FYI,sentinels don't have equipment slots. And assaults/commandos need to be somewhat self sufficient to continue attacking. Other than that,i see no problem with this.
You are right but team playing will be encouraged more. New players can skill nano hives to use them on the medium suites and run with veteran players. At the moment moste veteran players are snobing the new players. Logis will have to support the others or the team will lose. And logis will not have enough equipment to support the team and farm WP the same time.

Hives? Limit the lifespan of a hive to a certain time...say 30 seconds for example, after a hive is deployed a cooldown starts before a new one can be deployed and let a logi drop infinite hives down.
Uplinks? Keep it as it is, but Everytime someone spawn on an uplink, nearby uplinks have a chance to be destroyed. The closer that uplink is to others, the greater the chance of them being destroyed.
That's how you solve equipment spam and keep it interesting for a support role.

I am a logi thats why i don't like equipment spam the lag is bad for everyone. The truth is for a good logi its to easy to get 2500 WP for the OB. As a logi i know that when i am out of equipment i have to go to a supplydepot to get new. I am using my equipment only after squad members request it.
Your solution for the nano hives is a good one exempt the infinite number of hives. There will be no need for prototype hives or for logic to cary them around every one will have them for infinite militia or basic. i will put this idea on the top.
The one for the uplinks is not so good. Team members can't see which uplink is the prototype and nobody wants to spawn in a militia one from a team member and lose the prototype. |

Limiting the lifespan of nanohives is interesting but giving infinite hives will make the logi role less needed and there will be no need for higher tier nanohives.
I thought equipment spam was stopped when they nerfed all the equipment. |

It would be possible to design it so that higher level hives are wanted (bigger radius, more nanites, longer lifestyle, faster cooldown,....) and that other suits aren't attracted to using them like making the cooldown for dropping a new hive veeeeery long for non-logi- suits,....
For the uplinks, make the lower variants disappear first or something. |

Blah blah, they get more WP than I do with less kills, it doesn't cost way more ISK and SP, it's the only reason for lag, etc etc. This is just like the people who want to get rid of the redline, finding solutions for the wrong problems.
1) flux grenades
2) make it so you can't drop nanohives within 20m of a supply depot or uplinks within 20m of each other.

Did you read the posts above you??? As we already said your point 1) is a solution to fix the equipment spam after it happened we are searching ways to prevent it. Your point 2) is a good idea will put it not the top.

They were nerfed enough, multiple times. It is a visual problem not a balance problem. And the visual changes a lot, like others said FPS, lag and so on. Nerfing it internally would bring too many problems. Think how many people use equipment for many different uses. Maybe just prevent putting too much equipment in a location where there is enough, some kind of radius when the equipment count in a single location reaches it's limit.

Making massive changes to existing game mechanics is an often proposed but almost invariably short-sighted and counter productive "solution" to either the wrong problem or one that doesn't really exist. To wit:
1) Equipment spam causes lag, I hate lag: May or may not be true. How about we fix whatever it is about the equipment that allegedly causes the lag?
2) The map is hard to read: Fix the map, give us better zoom options and rotation.
3) People are just WP farming: Give them PvE or better matchmaking or gear-restricted game modes so they have an alternative to getting protostomped. This also goes along with the laughable "get rid of the redline" threads.
Basically what I am saying is we are going about this all wrong. Instead of completely destroying the way many victory- and team-oriented players (like myself) play this game which is already hemorrhaging active players there are any number of ways to restrict the objectionable and mindless uses of the equipment in question, like the thing about supply depots which I have literally suggested dozens of times in these forums already.

Here's a better idea. Increase Flux grenade magazine to 3.
Make Plasma cannon have huge blast radius, but affect shields/equipment only (like flux).
Make "emp" style remote explosive, destroys drops and decloaks for x seconds in blast radius. (1/equipment slot)
agree with the hacking thing, but I think hacking should allow you to acquire said item via salvage at end of battle, not have it deployed @ the location it is currently in.
And aside from brick scouts, scouts just became usable again, and I believe should retain the 2 equipment slots on their suits.
Equipment spam is only a problem when the players do nothing to eliminate the spam. 1 well placed flux grenade can fix the problem. (although I DO get the issue with lag issues, which can be caused by pretty much any type of spam)
Give DUST514 some direction.
