So Quafe is the best selling, most popular soft drink in New Eden. They are a soft drink company...
What the HELL are they doing attacking the Serpentis? That's like Coca Cola attacking Pablo Escobar.

in response Quafe has build up a small combat fleet to protect it's shipping as well as hired outside mercs to destory serpentis operations
Quafe is know for it's soft drinks but they trade in a whole lot more some of which is not really legal
So Quafe is trying to protect their legal assests while at the same time removing compition for their illegal work

they work out of the federation but if there is one thing the Cal know it is money and Quafe knows a good deal when they see one

Present day corporations play a significant role in geo-politics, they just conduct military operation via proxy. It's not that far fetched to think that an inter-galactic beverage company would find it more cost effective to maintain their own (para?) military forces rather than relying on a government. If fruit companies can create central and south american puppet governments (banana republics), extra-territorial/governmental companies is the logical next step as soon as it becomes more profitable to do away with the pretense of conforming to the rules of a sovereign state. Alcohol was distributed by armed cartels during prohibition and a quarter of the goods/services delivered annually pass through grey/black markets that frequently have an armed affiliate (even if it's just some armed guys). An intergalactic soda army is only different in terms of scale and organization, not in kind.
