It doesn't help your dad or anyone else right now, but CCP knows this. PvE is a CRUCIAL part of a successful NPE, and Legion will be taking that into account.

the longer i've played dust, the less i believe in the whole "new player experience" spiel
dust is a game for hardcore gamers.
Look. I was giving Donkey Kong Country Returns a good review on GameFly, and I read the other people's reviews. A couple of them were like, "this game is too hard 1/10"
It's like, if you're not in it for a challenge, then perhaps you shouldn't be playing video games in the first place? Sorry?

Sounds more like you enjoy having the fresh meat to stomp since you can't handle the competition yourself.
Giving new players a place to grow and learn while still offering them the option to engage vets if they so choose is how you foster strong player retention, and build stronger competition. As is, it's just feeding the sheep to the wolves.

Challenge is one thing, not being accessible is another entirely.
Many new players are okay with Dust's level of difficulty. They just want some way to learn the game before being thrown to the protostompers.

Well there is a very good chance for a PS4 port not too far after the PC release, which would have been the inevitable progression of DUST with or without going to PC. Regardless it's not going to help him anytime soon, but it IS coming (help, PS4 is obviously still up in the air)

Trouble is, he has liver cancer. He's undergoing treatment, and we are trying to stay optimistic, but... let's just say we aren't planning vacations any farther out than next year.
We aren't even sure when Legion will start alpha testing, much less when Legion for PS4 will launch.
