Currently if you have an SSD your game loads much quicker than everyone else's. This gives you a massive advantage as it literally puts you on the field before everyone else. In an ambush match players with SSDs can have their tanks in and sitting on your teams initial spawn AS they are spawning in. Not right after. AS THEY ARE SPAWNING IN FOR THE FIRST TIME. If I need to go on to explain how ridiculous it is that this happens then there is no saving you. Youtuber. Your friendly neighborhood whiskey-fueled merc.

A timer or some kind of fair start buffer is needed but the issue is with the SSD, and is just some general connection nonsense. People still load in way before I do with enough time to start capping points or fly uplinks to their favorite rooftops. The most SSD has done for me is give me war barge time, and, maybe, 1 to 2 seconds in the match before everyone else... So I might have time to call in a vehicle, but not like how you say. As well, I get around 6 to 8 megabyte down (48 to 64 mbps) and as of testing lazt night, a full megabyte up even during max download. So... can you disprove my claim that it is my internet? As well, it cost $20 more to replace my corrupted hard drive from the 1.7 patch (thanks CCP!) and it was, at the time, the fastest on the market. Truly, not the difference you're imagining. What I am saying is, yes, SSDs allow you to load in faster, but typically negligible amounts when considering internet connection speed. If you care so much about "fairness", why not also ask for latency correction measures? Saying no one cares about the opposing opinion is a quick way to make yourself look silly... all I am doing is showing the logical argument against yours, and providing you with alternative reasons, as well as, other correction measures which I don't think anyone wants. The problem is, you are focusing in on something that, in the long run, is trivial... Your corrections methods would need to be expanded to encompass all possible reasons this happens. Ignoring the fact that the bandwidth bottleneck in the PS3 internal structure isn't entirely on the hard drive, either... All I am saying is, are you accounting for all factors? I don't think it is 100% the SSD but the latency as well, which we all know is a huge problem in this game. If, as you say, you can hack the home point before others spawn in, don't you think that HUGE time difference can be contributed to other things then just a simple hard drive swap? That is my prediction. also, they'd need to rebalance the time on all gamemodes to deal with the delay because even 1/10 of a second can define a win or loss in a match, especially in ambush.
