So, the railgun range nerf is a double edged sword. Its nice not having to even think about some smuck in the redline trying to snipe the map, however it has allowed ADSes to much freedom in the game. I'm seeing more, and more, ADS spam with every game. People complain about having 6 tanks in a battle at once, but 6 ADSes is certainly worse.
The advantages ADSes have over tanks and infantry can be best described as so: Wasp vs Spider A wasp able to kill a spider because it has the advantage of flight.
A better, all be it less practical visual, can be seen here: Grid This model is okay, if the ADS is within the RG's tracking speed. The light purple represents the safe zone for the ADS. Doesn't look like much does it? This is why RGs stayed in the redline. Because they need to be so far back to have so much coverage.
Unless more types of AV are put into the game that are usable against ADSes, the railgun is the only option.
Nobody like vehicle spam. Especially new players. With 16v16 game modes, I believe that vehicles in public objective gamemodes should also be lowered; to 4 per side.

Now I see why CCP wanted to remove the ADS, being an ADS pilot myself its sad to see my favorite vehicle being abused.

Did they fix forge guns yet? Forge guns are just as bad, if not more deadly for an ADS. If forge guns are still horrifically broken like they were last time I played then this would be having just as much impact as the railgun nerf. |

-1 quit your QQ'ing Rail turrets are still capable of destroying ADS's so i dont want to hear about it.
From reading your post you do not fly ADS your self so you don't know how broken the red line is and how over powered the 600m range on the Rail turrets was.
now a Turret with 600m range and the damage and rate of fire would need restrictions such as;
1) 90 degree forward horizontal firing arc 2) 1/2 of the current Turret elevation. 3) 4 round clip size. yeah you better make those shots count.
It takes player skill to make you has mad as you are bro so stop your bitching and whining.
I don't even know why I bother.

The real problem is the elevation that dropships can reach it is outrageous given that no anti-vehicle can reach such heights.
The best solution is to limit the map ceiling a.k.a GÇ£flight zoneGÇ¥ by a height of 300 M, this is mainly because the most effective way to survive is to just turn your after burners and reach the map ceiling (It is like a private red line that cover the entire map).
Quote:The Assault class is a low-level aerial attack craft. Its light frame makes it highly maneuverable, while the front-mounted pilot-controlled turret gives it a significant advantage in aerial engagements.
If it was meant to be a "low-level aerial attack craft", why it can fly at the top of the map?

@Psychotic Shooter this game is built on balance not real life deal with it would you like a lucky rail gun hit to kill you in your tank? or infantry tracking you so you cant move? or another tank destroying your turret so you cant fight back?
And real life doesn't have a redline
I don't even know why I bother.

I believe balance also involves being able to fightback when you are being shot at at least once, don't get me wrong I love to fly with my ADS a.k.a. "Castle in the Air" without being able to die but it just feels unfair to shoot a tank with no risk involved to me.
And, if you ever get shot you just need to elevate a little more and you are untouchable.

I'll admit, the redline railgun is annoying. As a tanker, I have to deal with them to. Nothing like getting insta-popped and dying (as we tankers don't have the option to bail when our HP is taken) by some guy across the map. However, as a tanker it is my job to be aware of my battlefield. When I get popped, it is because of my lack of awareness and judgement.
This far into the DUST's lifespan, you must be aware of the redline and the dangers that come from it. If you want to talk about balance, then the ADS simply wins. It is more capable than a tank. This is why the best ADS pilots have more success than the best tankers.
And for the record, a lucky railgun shot to my tank will pop in 1-shot. Also a FG is capable of popping a tank in 1-shot too.
And really, the redline is not that bad for vehicles (all though some maps hare worse than others). Ambush doesn't have a redline even, so ADSes rule supreme there. And you forget, that you have a redline too and you can use it to recover or hang out just as well. Besides, you're capable of using an after burner for 3 seconds to be out of range of everything in the game.
Right now the railgun can only engage a ADS at a maximum of 225 liner meters. Which considering your missiles range is less than that, seems off-balance; until you factor in the fact that you have more volume of safety than tank shooting you does.

Judge is a classic example of smoke & mirrors. His videos are still subjective, opinionated, and only serve information that assists whatever point he is trying to make. They are well put together, but the information in them is still wrong and/or subjective. Not to say that he never makes a valid argument or point, but you still have to look through it with objectivity.

300meter is short? Tell me how balanced a 400meter lock-on range was for swarms... |

FYI
The current 175 m lock-on favors the ADS more.

ADS are not a huge problem currently. The rail gun range Nerf is not good that I will agree with. However, as the Devs have removed the majority of Rail Gun Installations it really isn't a game breaker. I adjusted and the only real problem is the missile turrets have unlimited range? WTH is that about? Time to lay the Range Nerf Hammer down on them as well.
There is one problem with the range that give the ADS a huge advantage. The rail gun tanks cannot target the ADS without some range and getting the front of the tank pointed into the air. There is no other way to get to a high flying ADS and now with 299m it means they can easily avoid most rail gun rounds.
In truth we all know the real problem here. There is no matchmaking in Dust.
And so it goes.

The information in judges videos are in no way subjective. His numbers are concrete and the math doesnt Lie. While he is an excellent dropship pilot and does advocate for the ship, he considers many points before stating anything in hs video.
Further more, he advocates for the fixing of swarm launchers; an AV weapon with the potentiol to mess and DS pilots day up. Also we have to add that shield and armor modules got nerfed to the point where ADS can easily be done away with.
BTW; he always makes a valid point. The thing is that scrubs don't like it.
