So, the railgun range nerf is a double edged sword. Its nice not having to even think about some smuck in the redline trying to snipe the map, however it has allowed ADSes to much freedom in the game. I'm seeing more, and more, ADS spam with every game. People complain about having 6 tanks in a battle at once, but 6 ADSes is certainly worse.
The advantages ADSes have over tanks and infantry can be best described as so: Wasp vs Spider A wasp able to kill a spider because it has the advantage of flight.
A better, all be it less practical visual, can be seen here: Grid This model is okay, if the ADS is within the RG's tracking speed. The light purple represents the safe zone for the ADS. Doesn't look like much does it? This is why RGs stayed in the redline. Because they need to be so far back to have so much coverage.
Unless more types of AV are put into the game that are usable against ADSes, the railgun is the only option.
Nobody like vehicle spam. Especially new players. With 16v16 game modes, I believe that vehicles in public objective gamemodes should also be lowered; to 4 per side.

And real life doesn't have a redline
I'll admit, the redline railgun is annoying. As a tanker, I have to deal with them to. Nothing like getting insta-popped and dying (as we tankers don't have the option to bail when our HP is taken) by some guy across the map. However, as a tanker it is my job to be aware of my battlefield. When I get popped, it is because of my lack of awareness and judgement.
This far into the DUST's lifespan, you must be aware of the redline and the dangers that come from it. If you want to talk about balance, then the ADS simply wins. It is more capable than a tank. This is why the best ADS pilots have more success than the best tankers.
And for the record, a lucky railgun shot to my tank will pop in 1-shot. Also a FG is capable of popping a tank in 1-shot too.
And really, the redline is not that bad for vehicles (all though some maps hare worse than others). Ambush doesn't have a redline even, so ADSes rule supreme there. And you forget, that you have a redline too and you can use it to recover or hang out just as well. Besides, you're capable of using an after burner for 3 seconds to be out of range of everything in the game.
Right now the railgun can only engage a ADS at a maximum of 225 liner meters. Which considering your missiles range is less than that, seems off-balance; until you factor in the fact that you have more volume of safety than tank shooting you does.

Judge is a classic example of smoke & mirrors. His videos are still subjective, opinionated, and only serve information that assists whatever point he is trying to make. They are well put together, but the information in them is still wrong and/or subjective. Not to say that he never makes a valid argument or point, but you still have to look through it with objectivity.
