First off it throws you into the thick of it with almost ZERO explanation on dropsuits, weapons, fittings, corporations, skill leveling, and BASIC game mechanics, and then after the pathetic 5 second tutorial it has the nerve to say "You're ready! Go get em' tiger!" Lol what a laughable joke. If you're new, expect to create multiple characters before you figure out your crack from a hole in the wall.
Once your pathetic excuse for a tutorial is done and you play all of like 3 matches with fellow noobs, you get dumped in matches with people with gear that's 100 times better than yours. You'll be all optimistic at first until these jackals wipe the pretty smile off your face; at which time you'll find yourself attempting (in vain) to pump all your rounds into a guy who'll just turn around drop you in 2 seconds flat. And why is that? Because there is NO skill level segregation. So after you've blown all your measly starting SP you'll realize that you blew it all on that awesome gun you wanted, only to realize you leveled up Light instead of Heavy and you need the appropriate dropsuit to use it. Ok so I'll just level that one right? Wrong, you just blew all your SP on the wrong things, so good luck building that back up anytime this decade....and you need to consider CPU and PG. Just wait and see how much fun you have trying to create a fitting every time it gets stuffed in your face that you don't have enough CPU or PG. And then you'll just have a blast opening THAT can of worms because remember that cool gun you wantes to use? Well just forget that for a while because the Devs thought dropsuit leveling was SO much fun that they decided to make TWO DIFFERENT SKILL TREES FOR IT. Gimme a freakin break. And you know what makes it even more frustrating?? THEY DON'T TELL YOU JACK. AND THEY NICKEL AND DIME YOU WITH SP TO THE POINT WHERE IT'S DOWNRIGHT INSULTING. So unless you have a stinkload of money to spend, just expect to get rectum raped over and over while it takes you a year just to get a few mediocre guns at best. While the paid players dance over your corpse. Players need to be separated by skill level. And hey, here's a message to the Devs.... Why not actually REWARD the people who spend so much time playing your games instead of insulting them with a lousy 3,000 SP per fight. It's a freakin joke. And why is everyone so afraid to rant? Stop being so politically correct and just say what bothers you and maybe you'll actually see some of the changes you wanna see in the games you play. Y'all act like a bunch of baby blue boyscouts on here like "GEE WHIZ this game troubles me something awful!" when you know damn well you're throwing your damn controllers in a fit of rage 4 times a day. So freakin fake. That's all I got. Peace.
I recommend all of you watch this video that are having problems with SP. Maybe think about saving some, asking questions before you spend it. Even go check out other Youtube channels.

If anyone wants to add me I'll be glad to stand there noobishly and... maybe be a human shield idk. Don't expect much. I need a beer. young man the struggle is real. you are new and this is a sadbox game which means the players run the game and teach the other new players. there are many training corporation that you can join in game full of vet players that will help you put your SP in the right spot like Dust university or you can apply to KILL-EM-QUICK and are vet players will teach you and also put you in there squad and protect you from getting stomped all the time while you rank up your SP. since your new best thing to do is make a new character and save all your SP don't put in anything until you join a corporation that will show you were to put your SP because that is the most critical part of the game at first.

Not everyone who has a lot of sp paid hundreds to get them. I only spent 40 bucks on dust but I wanted to support CCP and the vision and I got some stuff for it so cool. I have just been playing for longer so I understand the game and have some skills. Let me tell you though, when I first started it wasn't a picknick. I died quite a bit in my free starter suits, but I didn't care cause I was having fun, making money and learning to fly.
There should be a message that says, "take some time to familiarize yourself with some suits and weapons in the milita gear section" followed by "READ SCRUB, READ!"
Anyway I'd say dust is anti dumb noob, you know the ones who don't read or figure stuff out or ask for help or are patient or who look for things etc. |

Things always seem obvious when you are familiar with them. The new people I have gotten to try this game have plenty of wtf moments. One guy had an old account and finally decided to play. Had 6 million SP which he completely wasted, when he figured out what he had dobe he deleted the game.

Another scrubby thing to say too. You're scrubby assuming that putting in skill points into something that isn't later changed dramatically by CCP precludes the whole "READ SCRUB, READ". That's where you fail in your argument. LIkewise its called player gaps; the earlier you start and actively play the more difficult it is for any player to catch up. After 18 months of play your logic also fails for those who are at the 45mil SP range right now; they can cap out their suits and augments for it and weapons and sure you can say "i'm going to carefully plan my SP" but that's also assuming CCP doesn't actually make changes to it that make it worse off than before.
Not sure if you've noticed but it's not exactly a favorite thing for players to allocate and plan builds and enhance their character when you're not sure if CCP has even settled down yet on hotfixes. And dying a lot to learn something also fails logically speaking in this game; I've seen vets go 30+ to 1 on their KDR with new players going 3:20+ and unless they dedicated dozens of hours more, their skillpoints aren't going to catch up in a meaningful manner without actually getting boosters and playing dozens of hours longer.
There's a reason why Dust has so many problems and it's not because of new players but because it's really optimal mostly for players who've played yearlong and have that headstart. And if legion is allowing a meaningful transit of skills or resources from Dust, then Legion is still going to fall into the same mousetrap unless CCP has devised a significantly superior AI for matchmaking. |

But the point of New Eden is that there is no matchmaking.
Why should you complain if a player who has spent 2+ years playing any game wrecks a new player...... that will always happen in every game.

But OP, I see you are new, so I'll explain -- and I don't mean that in a condescending way, we were all noobs to this game at one point. Every point you rant about has been discussed ad nauseum on these forums for the last 1.5 years, so that's probably why you don't see a lot of threads about them anymore. We all got tired of making the same damn point over and over again, cause it felt like CCP wasn't listening.
Good news is, CCP Rattati does seem to be listening, so the points you bring up may very well be addressed in the coming months, or so we all hope.
And join a corp, you can't really lone wolf it in this game, not after a crapload of experience playing, that is. And not even then, not if you want to win matches.
