I'd support a slight (.3 - .4 second) delay before being able to fire after decloaking... It's mostly a problem with the shotgun, though I've seen practically *EVERY* scout running a shotgun right now, which is affecting would-be-assaults pretty badly, because they're getting bodied by things they cannot see, before they have time to react to them. |

The animation alone needs fixing. The animation just takes too long to finish before I can attack. Also, that hack-cloak glitch needs fixing as well. Beyond that, I don't see a problem with the cloak.

Don't have a problem with a true scout shot gunning me from behind. Just fotm chasing scrubs who are abusing ccps poor implementation to pretend they are good.

That's what scouts should be doing, not camping an objective with a shotgun. |

1. they need less shimmer. Currently we are at full shimmer at a half walking spped. This is too much. moving with little to no shimmer should be a viable tactic. We could tie this to the skill (5% reduced shimmer per level, for instance)
2. they need their uptime and cooldowns switched. 30 seconds up with 60 seconds cooldown. currently it's too easy to run the cloak constantly.
Best PVE idea I've seen.

4 - taking damage while cloaked decloaks you with some penalty delay before re-cloaking (perhaps 5 secs). 5 - very brief firing delay after decloaking (0.5 secs)

It should not be possible for you to fire instantly on coming out of cloak, either.

The animation needs to be fixed... As amusing as it is.
If your Crouch walking you should be Full cloaked... Otherwise shimmer is good.
The more FPS players who haven't played with a cloaking mechanic in a FPS game, play with it... the more obvious and familiar it will become.
Those from Crysis... are already picking it out like a sore thumb. |

The timers on the cloaks are to long and the recharge to fast. There is little point in going above standard and no point whatsoever to go over advanced.
So both the duration and recharge need to be tuned downed across the tiers.

I disagree the proto should be where the advanced is now. The advanced somewhere in between the current standard and advanced and FINALY the standard should be halved from what's its now.

What about this for cloaks--even though I think they're in a good place:
Being hit by a flux grenade decloaks you and empties the reserve power, but it starts recharging immediately. That'd necessarily add a delay to recloak (since you can't recloak until filled halfway UNLESS this restriction was removed due to the cloak being affected by flux grenades), but then if it affects your shields, too, then you're sort of being hit by a double attack. If anything, maybe it'd just clear the cloak but leave your shields (your cloak "took the blast") or there'd have to be other balance considerations.
