When using a rep tool, you are 100% vulnerable to anything that shoots at you. The lock on is clunky, and it takes 1 second for it to stop firing and withdraw just to be switchable another second later. That's right...it takes 2 whole seconds to deactivate and allow you to pull out your weapon to defend yourself.
You can easily die in those 2 seconds from any enemy fire, not to mention if they ignore the person you're repping to get rid of you first. And let's not forget being slowed to walking speed and being OHKd by shotguns and sniper rifles. When i first read about this suggestion i thought it would be horribly OP,with the release of 1.8 i'm doing a 180 because the logistics role is going extinct.
My request: -Heal the user of the rep tool by 50% of its repping potential while it's repairing an ally(ies) -or- -Allow rep tools on logistics suits to self heal the suit -or- -Allow rep tools that have more than 1 beam to target the user
CCP,it is my personal belief that if i willingly give up offense i should get a fair amount of defense in exchange. I'm trying to be as nice as i can about this because it's very frustrating to have to skill into everything it takes to be a logi, and having all of it taken from you with a single bullet,or a single grenade often of the MLT variety.
I game over like a boss.

Im inclined to agree, since im a pure logi, with zero weapon skills but my bpo smg which I rely on when im stuck on my own, any decent player will target the logi first and with the limited range on the rep tool some kind of defence would be nice, people will say stand behind someone but thats impossible unless u both want to be sitting ducks which in turn will see u slaughtered from a different angle.
I like the idea of the 50% heal on urself while healing someone else but find it hard to be popular to other roles, the 2 target system being able to target yourself wouldnt really work, unless the core focus has 2 targets which wont happen. Maybe even a boost in armor resistances to urself or this may be pushing it lmao but why not self cloak when u rep someone (only while repping) .
Was repping someone yesterday only to be slaughtered by people cloaked with no chance of being able to fight back or being able to ask for help. |

These bonuses would be logi exclusive, seeing as logis are supposed to be masters of support. How can a logi support anyone when they're DOA every time they show up to give said support.
The two target system wouldn't just magically create an invisible repairing bonus for the user, because it would be applying standard rep mechanics, just on the person using it.
But i've suggested things that all rep tools would benefit from not just double beam ones.
I would personally prefer the 50% bonus myself.
Yeah...dem OP cloaks...that is partially why this wouldn't be OP for rep tools.

Me too, im sick of dying so easily with no means of defence. Noone on your squad or team can help either without sacrificing themselves which in turn is the end of the logi again. Equipment the way it is , I think is fine no dramas there but I never survive long enough to use half of my equipment without just chucking it all in random spots 1-5m away from each other, which is basically called equip spamming.

As a dual beam Rep Tool user, no way do I want the second beam repping myself! I use the dual beam so I can stay on a heavy and heal anyone that is smart enough to fall back after taking damage. Plus heal more people quicker. I logi for my SQUAD not just a heavy. Honestly I'm not having the same problem as all the other repping logis. If you are using a core focused well you are asking to take damage. Also if you are "only" following heavies around repping you are asking to be cannon fodder. Repping is there to "SUPPORT".
Heal the damaged not make people invincible. You can pull off or refuse to follow a heavy into a hot zone bc he thinks he is invincible. Heavies like a Logi on them at all time but is not required unless the situation calls for it. (Heavy blocking a door way) A good heavy/player in general isn't going to step out in the open and absorb an entire squads damage unless nessacary.
I've been a Logi since the start of my Dust career and got to say you "new" logis are complainers. You look/act like lemmings! Mindlessly following a heavy around never breaking that leash. Instead of doing you job and repping your entire squad.
Heavies have a high HP Pool and can survive 1v1 1v2 engagements with out a logi repping him through it. You are crying for "Easy Mode" which I hope and pray CCP doesn't give in to. |

Im sorry but you contridicted yourself, check the bold. While I agree on the second beam not on yourself, I believe we need some defence against not what the person your repping is doing but the others that come at you from say behind or that cloak past the person your repping just to take you out, where you have no chance to get your gun out in time or to even ask for help on the mic as its usually to late. Yes u can run but that results in the same fate from the person your repping to. |

Let me try to clarify. When I am running logi I run between my squadmates. If the heavy is taking the majority of the damage I try to stay on him. If not then I try to find whoever is firing for the extra guardian points. The point I was trying to make: A new wave of logistics is on the battle field. Their SOLE purpose is to put a leash on a heavy and never leave. These people seem to be the ones crying and complaining about a logis survivability.
Of course logis are going to get focus fire they are the squads life support. It is up to the remaining "5" squad members to help keep the logi on his feet. This seriously isn't a problem with proper teamwork. People always say this is a team game, but don't act like it and complain when it doesn't work.
Only game mode that is deathmatch is ambush. With the other two there is no reason for your squadmates to be across the map slaying the stray enemy. If you squad is actually working together, scouts flank/drift farther away, assaults/slayers support the logi/heavy you will find you don't die as often. It is when people start worrying about chasing and killing everything they see that logis have a problem. It is your squad that needs a buff not the logi. They are leaving their medic vulnerable.

Ahh yes, teamwork is a major issue, very easily they go off on a rambo mission and that one going off is doom to the rest.
Its hard to teach in my eyes, even with a defend order they stray off all the time, maybe instead of logi buff or whatever make the squad all gain points for being together, incentive to stay together no matterwhat. |

I have been a logi since before uprising and I can tell you without a doubt being a logi has become much more difficult. Being a point ***** I go to where the action is but as of lately with the introduction of cloaks I just die. I am constantly being shot in the back while trying to do my job. Usually I can count on my squad to watch my back and kill those pesky scouts and their cloaks but they are so popular everyone is using them. This would not be such a problem if either isk payouts were increased or equipment prices were reduced. A decent logi suit costs between 50 000 and up to 250 000 a suit. That effectively means losing more than 5 suits a game and you will no longer profit. My average deaths per game has almost doubled since 1.8 came out. Compounded with the nerf to scanners (Which are totally broken) It has become even more of an isk sink being a logi.
No you kill this blueberry hacking the CRU we are camping. I already killed the last 2.

Back in the closed beta, there was a bug that allowed rep tools repair the user. This led to a lot of people running rep tools and dual tanking. And it worked. You could have massive pools of shields and armor, with speedy regen on both HP pools. You'd be slow as a heavy, but you'd be regenerating way more health than any other infantry in the game the moment you get out of sight.
It was patched for a reason.
I can't support allowing rep tools to heal their user, but I do like the idea of giving the logi resistances while repping others. It doesn't run in to the same problem as self healing, yet buffs the act of supporting the team. Also, I don't know about activating a cloak while repping for all tools, but I do think it would be cool to have a stealth repair tool variant of some kind, whether that's cloaking the user or just the repping beam.

Bring back the passive Logi rep
- it wasn't broken and certainly isn't now that the new suits are in and all suits are getting cool stuff. - if you can survive the encounter you slowly recover your HP
Remove the rep tool delays in targeting and in disengaging
- it's already hard enough to rep your buddies who insist on running off half healed let alone if you can't lock them. - not being able to disengage a rep tool gets me killed nearly as much as the old scanner mechanic did. |

Allow a self-repair 'trickle-charge' (maybe 10%) ONLY when the Rep Tool is ACTIVELY repairing.
