Using a RNG really takes the fun and motivation out of me telling you what to spec into.
So, there seems to be a lack of logis right now. Why don't you go Caldari Logi and throw some nanohives at my feet.
You people who have an ego trip from proto stomping have a harsh reality waiting in life after you turn off the PS3.

Went 28-4 on my first try :P
The lasers are actually pretty good now, suprisingly.

If you don't wanna scout, you don't wanna go fatty.. that leaves you standard medium suit or Assault/Logi, then that depends on your preference for race/suit aesthetics..
I would say Amarr assault/Logi, the assault will let you play with epic laser weaponry and the logi is all around flexible.
Laser rifle is great fun from range, especially if you have a friend who can 'Lazor' with you.
and the assault scrambler rifle melts in med/close range.
The logi can use pretty much anything, and as it's Amarr it's good all round, decent stamina, plenty of highs and lows so would suit any play style, I have advanced Amarr Logi with every combination of weapon and equipment should the situation warrant it.
Most of all fella - just have fun, as much as I like tearing up squishy inviso-scouts with my HMG, I also like switching it up and going cloaky-stabby with my BPO Gal scout.
I can haz all your Officer Heavy weapons?

I am so stuck I feel like quitting, but at the same time I don't want to quit because this game is amazing.......
So I am going to let you guys decide what I skill into because I am sick and tired of trying to decide for myself.
A couple things first:
I refuse to use Heavy/Sentinel, Commando is fine.
No sniping, that's boring.
No vehicles, I am sick of them.
I will not use anything overpowered/overused.
I enjoy gimmick a lot, but I will not use something that is near unusable.
So, you decide. I will let the comments build up and then use a random number generator to decide which fit to use. The person who submits the chosen fit receives 7 million isk.
Submit Away!
I haven't gone through all the messages yet, so I'm sure this has already been said, but go with a scout. Minmatar (has no real chance of ever being nerfed due to being UP compared to other scouts) Getting your Nova Knives maxed out and perhaps an SMG or Combat Rifle, as well as Kinetic Catalyzers. It will take awhile, you'll need a few million SP before the fit comes together, but this is probably one of the most entertaining suits to play. You're not that strong, but you're extremely fast and can easily flank around enemies. If you want to add RE's or a basic cloak, you become even more deadly, though seeing as you don't want anything overused/OP, the cloak might not be for you... not sure what your views are on it, and the community seems to be divided on it as well.
As with everyone else though, I'd recommend not deleting your characters. Make separate PSN accounts so you can get passive SP and test things out. You don't even have to play your main, just make them and while you decide, let the passive SP build up.
I could get some advanced fits for you if you'd like, though most won't work until you've got certain core skills maxed anyways. This would definitely take awhile to get it to where you wanted, so if your patience isn't that good, going minmatar scout probably isn't a good idea and you should ignore all this.
Nova Knives are OP! Nerf em before you lose all your proto suits!

No suggestion is a bad suggestion. This is a viable entry so may get 7 million isk. You said you haven't read through all the comments so you haven't seen that you are allowed to post two suggestions, doubling your chances of getting the prize! |

I'd say go for Minmatar Scout with Nova Knives if you're really looking for something new (assuming you can do with something that can't fire). You might love the speed, no cloaking required. If you must, you can get lvl 1 Combat Rifle, since its nerf has made it pretty much non-OP. Nice suggestion, it is going on the list. Though this is not something new to me, I have gone minja many times before, I'm just not that good at scouting. Then make it an Assault. Perhaps some KinCats can make you a speedy beast. Ok, Min Assault is your suggestion? What weapons? Mass Driver looks to be interesting, since it's getting a much-needed buff. Then again, you could always go Min Commando and get bonuses for all Min Projectile Weapons. (CR, MD). |

Well, I guess a second suggestion is in order, similar to the first and less SP intensive. Minmatar assault. They're similar in speed to the scouts, but you don't need to dump as many skill points in them to get them up to reasonable levels. Or even the basic frame if you really want to get things quickly. I had one before with 400 shielding and about 200 armor (was an advanced frame) that worked like a dream in most situations. A kinetic catalyzer plus an SMG and Combat Rifle is extremely fun, and unlike most of the scout suits, you've got the health to make a mistake and the speed to ensure your mistake can be fixed. They're not as flexible as the scout though, but a basic frame with complex shield extenders and kincats are definitely viable if your gun game is decent. They will get slaughtered by scrambler rifles and pistols though, so just a word of warning before going towards anything that's a heavy shield tanker like the minmatar suits.

I feel you, I deleted a 4mil SP character cause I wanted to change my profile photo as I log in and the order of my toons on the main screen, as well change my name. It wasn't a smart idea though; I now realize all the officer weapons and AU gear that got deleted with it.
Your list of what you want/don't want to use doesn't paint a clear picture. You say you have used every suit or weapon, what do you like doing?
Scouts die fast, so they can be no fun for a lot of people. Also, they take the longest to make the best. An assault can grab and go; they will always be scanned, unless you run a special fit. To make a scout non frustrating you will need about 8 mil in core upgrades, kin kats, cardio, precision, range, dampening, hacking, electronics. ect. Once you do though, you can really shine.
Heavies are annoying hard to move around in, that put commando out (especially if you don't want vehicles either)
I'd recommend heavily getting a toon you are going to like forever, and buy the collectors card off of ebay for the templar gear, and buy the code card from Amazon for like 5 bucks to get a LAV BPO. Once you have even a couple of BPO's it vastly changes the game. Even if you die, if you are running a 3K suit, you don't care much. Since you are starting over and are not going to be a sniper I can assume you will not care about your KDR too much.
Other than that, I would recommend only buying 30 active and passive boosters and running with a templar logi (free) with a scrambler rifle (free) and a scrambler pistol (free), some flux nades, militia shield enhancers in the highs, militia armor plate, militia armor rep in the lows, and a repper and either a scanner, nanohive, needle, or uplink.
You will have (I believe, these just changed in 1.8) around 200 shields and 400 armor without spending a point of SP. Run with a pack in the city and hang back, don't take chances, don't be alone. Even if you don't run with a squad you will be protected and have an easier time, it's a lot of fun saving people too. With the scrambler rifles range you can stay back and still get the kills. This is also end up netting you the most WP per match outside of tanking or protostomping and you can max out those core skills first.

I can confirm that the LAV BPO still works, and the above link is legitimate.
I believe the Templar BPO pack has no expiration date. However, it includes the 3 Templar Dropsuit BPO's and 3 BPO weapons in an inseparable bundle. It can cost from 50-100 USD, on average. |
