my blaster maddy can make hardener cycling ion blaster tanks run.... or any hardener using blaster tank in general....
id put a rail gun or missile turret on there but i only had enough cpu for the large blaster.
even so.. its not invulnerable to av. |

Honestly, if the turret rotation skill was actually applying, bomb trucks would only kill bad tankers unless you got lucky. Im a horrible tanker and I already counter them pretty easily

Its not that they are OP....just not well balanced right now. It's not even that HAV require much changing IMO to bring them in line with current AV values.
De-incentivizing the stacking of hardeners is a primary focus of any balancing...however at the same time we should never arbitrarily disallow that..... making the harder and less valuable to stack....that's much better.

Infantry has no skin in the game, so their opinion doesn't matter. They don't pay for the turrets and they don't suffer when they turn red. It's as simple as that. +1
No free battlefield assets. Yellow Instillations after Battle Academy need to all disappear. Any Blue Instillations should be paid for and dropped in proper OMS fashion by the Merc who bought it. Even free Warbarge strikes Need an ISK debit value the Squad Leader pays. The ship orbitals requirer resources so are already paid for.

I've lost suits to enemy all types of AI installations. They hunt the closest target in their detection arc, infantry or vehicle, as rabidly as rail installations hunt HAVs. Infantry doesn't get a free pass from AI installation abuse as much as you might like everyone to think they do.
I still can't find tanks on the market. All I see are those HAVs.

I don't play PC.... I find it boring and pointless though the competition level would surely be amazing. No I am a member of a corporation that almost exclusively focuses on FW and advancing the values of the Amarr Empire. As I say WP means nothing in FW and to me personally. What matters to me is ISK destroyed for ISK lost. If I have caused at least 2-3x more ISK destroyed than ISK lost its not a good game for me.
IMO FW is another pub battle as anyone can enter one at any time regardless of the rewards.
I still can't find tanks on the market. All I see are those HAVs.

As you say. They are rarely ever used. Better I destroy them and can operate freely in your defence than they remain up and I risk being blind-sided because you guys couldn't even be bothered to protect them.

It should just be that neutral turrets can't be destroyed. I fear that in 1.8 no turret, CRU, or supply depot will be safe. People will farm damage points.

Have you ever run infantry? There are plenty of AI turrets, yet you don't see infantry crying for yanks to save them by destroying them in case they turn red. Forge Gunners shoot them for WP, same as tankers.

the issue with tanks goes is two sole things
one tanks shoould cost as much as dropships
i know it doesnt fix the guys with endless wallets but if they dont run tanks they are going to use proto suits cause they dont care about isk
two the redline
the two ways i see to fix the redline is either no shots out no shots in or
do a prestige of damage for depth of the redline i.e. 50m in 90% damage 100m in 40% damage 150m in take no damage deal no damage
i like damage % based on distance in the redline beacuse it fixes killing things in the redline for point farming as well redline snipers |

If we do and they flip how are we to react to that? what about the ones right by the MCC on the hills? sometimes they do it just to farm points and be obnoxious. some games i've gotten on a railgun installation and taken out 2 tanks, all the other enemy turrets and the same dropship pilot 2 or 3 times within the first 5 minutes of the match! some of the turrets are in such a good place that there is NO EXCUSE for destroying them before they're hacked! I love the ones which let you see the entire map, I've taken out a few DS pilots 4 or 5 times in a row before they got the message,. anywhere they took off from was easily visible, that's a great advantage of being able to dominate the map which should not be taken away by somebody looking to farm 100wp. and i totally understand how deadly they are having been an allstar militia tank user for a while now. No, they should not be taken away by blueberries, mainly because they can't, unless it's FW since those turrets are already blue and inside the redline. No, they should not be taken away by blueberries, because they should be taken away by CCP.
R.I.P. Pre-1.7 tanks, you will be missed.
