I think private matches SHOULD be on this game. These are my thoughts on it....
No SP Earned in a private match
No ISK Earned in a private match
An unlimited stock of your fittings in a private match
* Corps can train new members & go against eachother.
Just a thought I mean I see no CON's to having private matches.... Then again I dont see CCP ever releasing something like this....
What are your thoughts on a private match being released or at least where you can rent a server much like Battle Field?

I've got 37M SP. I have an enormous variety of fittings at my disposal. Why would I ever want to leave this game mode?
I don't really need more SP, especially since I'd still be gaining via passive. I wouldn't be gaining ISK, but really , who cares when I'm not spending any?
What would be the point in /not/ playing this game mode?

I'm all for it except for the not costing anything idea. There should be *no* battle situation wherein one does not risk loss, imo, unless these are meant to take place on a holodeck or simulator, which would be fine for internal training, but problematic for Corp v Corp battles. |

fittings would still be depleted. Call the game mode Gladiator, let eve players watch it if they are connected to the district.

The old Corp Battles were pretty much private matches. You had to wager some isk and still lost fittings however. But was very easy to set up for training purposes.
Too bad we can't get a real training mode where everything is free to try out. Planetside 2 has a nice one if anyone wants an idea on how it could work. |

Agreed. In fact, many of us have been calling for the return of corp matches for some time. Given MH will likely be "pay ERA to play", I suspect this petition to gain momentum going forward. |

Take out the bit about not losing what you use, we had these, they were called corp battles. You put up a contract for a certain amount and another corp agreed and you fought for the pot. They were usually fun, we liked them, we have requested they be put back in.

We've have asked for this so many times it isn't even funny anymore. We have continually said that a corp that owns a district or is in a district holding alliance should be able to use the district anytime they want however they want almost exactly like what you posted. Good luck friend.

No lose your stuff, just because you want to practice or just play around doesn't mean you should play for free. Don't pay ISK and don't award SP/WP but the cost of training should be there. No more free rides. We don't need a COD simulator.

Bad retort is bad.
We need private matches so players can just break off from the rest of the community with no consequence of loss or way to touch them? We don't need to enable people to be able to go play their own game, this is New Eden and if you want to practice it should come with a price and losing something during a practice session is perfectly fine.

Make this an 'invite only'
So you and your squad go to the battle finder, and your SL places you guys in 'private match', they invite another squad's SL, and he accepts. The resulting match is a 6v6 or maybe 12v12 match of only people you invite(squad leaders, but still)

I love the idea but it has to have risk or non-consensual PVP. What they should do is just give us the option to visit any district we want with whatever stacked team up to 16 that we want, if other mercs show up and ruin our training session then so be it and if not then you got a good training session in.

Nothing to do with practice. It has to do with being abused by people who just want to play a risk free game. New Eden isn't about that. That is my only problem with it. There shouldn't be safe places to go do what we want.

The risk is being there and not know what is going to happen and if they are in the red practicing in pubs then there is no friendly fire and if they are in FW there is risk of losing a suit to a friendly or to the people you are practicing with. In PC the risk is losing the district.
Did you all not read his post, he wants to play where there is no risk what so ever.
An unlimited stock of your fittings in a private match you can rent a server much like Battle Field
Both of those are the exact opposite of what this game and New Eden in general is about. Risk and single shard is what New Eden is about not LOL private servers and unlimited fits.

LOL at FPS standard, I don't care about what other FPSs do because this isn't those games. This game is different and if you want to be risk free then play the standard FPS without any type of lose or reward. Find ONE place in New Eden that is risk free, on a different sever or lets players just have infinite anything besides starter fits/ships. You are breaking the backbone of the game with this type of idea.

You got me on bpo but there are risks associated with the others. If you are trolling then you are doing an excellent job but if you aren't then you don't understand New Eden. No need to reply because I am considering the rest of these posts to be trolling and won't be checking back or responding any more. If you break the game with an idea like this then NPE is moot.

Its been a FPS standard for some time now What your saying is you want to put new players at even more of a disadvantage. Redline sniping and redline tanks Redline snipers are safe 99% of the time. Redline tanks are safe 100% of the time. BPOs give you infinite items Your killing the game by wanting to hurt the NPE Dust is by no means different, it is a lobby shooter and i dont see that changing anytime soon. And even if it WAS different private matches are still an important part of any decent FPS You got me on bpo but there are risks associated with the others. If you are trolling then you are doing an excellent job but if you aren't then you don't understand New Eden. No nedd to reply because I am considering the rest of these posts to be trolling and won't be checking back or responding any more. If you break the game with an idea like this then NPE is moot. Saying private matchs shouldent be in the game shows your lack of understanding of this game Also Anytime someone says there not going to reply I read it as "i give up, your right " I also consider saying "your just a troll!" A form of giving up Good to know you cant think any any arguments. Bring us private matches CCP! |

I'd still have you lose gear....but I would have the isk payout be 50-75% of the gear you ran.....or make it cost 500k isk to start the match....
There's a way to do it and do it fairly....

No, you shouldent lose stuff in private matches No lose your stuff, just because you want to practice or just play around doesn't mean you should play for free. Don't pay ISK and don't award SP/WP but the cost of training should be there. No more free rides. We don't need a COD simulator. bad logic is bad. Bad retort is bad. We need private matches so players can just break off from the rest of the community with no consequence of loss or way to touch them? We don't need to enable people to be able to go play their own game, this is New Eden and if you want to practice it should come with a price and losing something during a practice session is perfectly fine. Yeah and thats sort of another way of why we need private matches.

Simulation battles No gear lost, no ISK won, no meaning except the option of betting on fights. Add a spectator mode, or at least the option to record (and share) fights in the simulator.
Also, as has been requested since the removal, BRING BACK CORP BATTLES. |

Simple idea that may please both side: the money for everything you lose comes out of the Corp money if a Corp is wanting to train or have fun ,the money comes right out of all that money from the Corp tax
So there is now a loss and player get their seemingly free suits |

Any no cost match should be single player only against AI. When another player is involved stuff is consumed, otherwise people would play only those private matches, as there weren't enough KDR padders out there... |

An exception should be made for player-run corps that want to practice ahead of time for any future attack or defense. Eve Online players do this all the time in the Singularity Test server. Though they do consume items, those items aren't valuable by any means since everything in the test server is 100 ISK (even a Titan is 100 ISK in that server) and wallets are fat in there. In the case of Dust, you can have the lore mention this as some kind of VR training exercise.

I still fear that it will result in people playing the game within the game instead of Dust, what's the rationale for players to play pub/fw/pc matches where they can lose stuff and standings if they can get some pew pew without consequences?
The concept of consequences is still hard to grasp for about 90% of the playerbase here (all hail the respec threads for example), this would make it even harder. Gear isn't that hard to reimburse when doing practice matches for any serious corp, making a "play for free the entire time" button is IMHO bad. But that's just my two euro cents, but if they would implement that VR mode please make it corp only (so no outside corps and members). I'd opt for a proper gladiator arena mode over VR. |

If you're concern is that players will just use the VR training (aka private matches) as some kind of CoD-style matchmaking or whatchyamacallit then I don't see that happening mainly because there is nothing to gain from this. No SP gained, no ISK earned, no salvage acquired, no standings increase, no LP earned, nothing. Not even a KDR increase. Just a simple corp-run match that doesn't impact anything in the grand scheme of things. There is no incentive other than to just gain actual battlefield experience and how to better coordinate with your team.
But if you're still concerned about it, then I guess it wouldn't hurt to make items consumables in those private matches but then you'll have to take away the whole VR aspect of it because... well... let's be serious. Who the hell loses a physical item in a virtual reality experience? In that case, this should encourage player-run corporations to setup something that is equal to what us Eve Online players call the Ship Replacement Program or SRP. In the case of Dust, it would be the Suit Replacement Program. SRPs often setup like the following in Eve:
1. 100% reimbursement of the value of the ship as long as it was within fleet doctrine*. 2. Partial or 100% reimbursement of the mineral value of the ship** if it wasn't within fleet doctrine. 3. Modules fitted onto ships are not covered by the SRP. Only the ship hull itself is covered.
* - For those of you not in the know, Fleet Doctrine is a term used in Eve Online to describe an established standard of what type of ship setup to being into the fleet so that the fleet operates as effectively and as efficiency as possible. Example: A fleet consisting entirely of Amarr Ships with emphasis on laser turrets and armor tanking.
** - The value of the minerals used to produce the ship. Please note this does NOT include Tech 2 components used for the production of the ship if the ship happens to be one of those highly specialized ones. Example: If you lose a Jaguar, you will only be covered for the mineral portion of the ship, but not the Tech 2 portion of it which is often really expensive compared to the minerals.

The Corp can deal with their own people If your in a private match for training then why are you running proto? And if a guys does do that just make him reimburse the money or punish him as the Corp sees fit |
