It's not the fact you are 250/500 meters in the redline. You will find me there some matches.
It's not that salvage is broken. My merc hasn't recieved anything in salvage since December... no bs, ever since I went on record stating salvage is broken, funny coincidence? See EDIT.

It is because it is in my opinion Thales have no right of place in a Public match. It is as simple as that.

Call in Viper.
Start to laugh.
Fly to redline.
Activate Scanner.
Activate Afterburner.

Find Thales.
Try to roadkill.
Keep laughing.
Jump out shoot the red as they are scrambling towards a supply depot.
Run up to red taking a dirt nap.
Teabag.
Laugh more.
Shoot in the head to terminate frame.
Try to get back in dropship, if it's not on fire.
Dropship times out and blows up.
Die in the redline satisfied.

Respawn with a smile.

Keep laughing.

I can't actually think of a game offhand where a sniper rifle instakills infantry without a headshot.

And in games where they instakill with a headshot, it takes a little more skill to do.

Not a lot of "wounded by sniper" people out there honestly.

I will gladly sacrifice an ADS to go deep into the redline and pop a thale sniper... without hesitation.

There would be if they all were wearing suits of armor like a DUST mercenary................honestly.

I don't know if you've followed arms development over the years but specialized weapons tend to be more effective than any kind of armor.

That's why the thale is the only real sniper rifle. No sane weapons developer would try to pass something of as a "sniper rifle" if it is easily defeated by body armor. Snipers are a picky lot of people and it only takes a few thumbs down from them in order to ruin sales of a particular rifle completely. It has been so in the past, is so in the present, and will be so in the future.

This is true. It is also an example of why sniper rifles are actually underpowered in Dust currently, and will be more so in 1.8.

How do you even get the thales

Yup. Rather stupid really. Increase ttk for all other weapons if you like, but a sniper rifle that doesn't kill in one shot doesn't deserve to be called a sniper rifle.
