P.S. AV vs tanks are like tanks vs rails. These two thing need to be solved.
Increase fittings costs of hardeners slightly, decrease hardener resistances, implement a timers between when one hardener can be active and the next active, perhaps half of the cool down the first module meaning tanks can only activate 1 at a time and have between 25 and 45 seconds cool down.

Personally I think the higher the tier the vehicle equipment the easier it should be to fit. This way you would be rewarded with skilling into tanks and MLT wouldn't be all that great for zero SP.
CCP you better nail 1.8, as it stands 1.7 is a total disaster.

You know modern AV is light years ahead of Dust right? I mean it's real life.
Remember balance comes first because it's a video game. Tanks need slowed down or a much more limited view. Modern tanks don't have 3rd person view.

People keep saying that, but my experience has never been borne out by these assertions.
Last time I went forging with a squad, there were four tanks and three of us.
They were all dead inside a minute.
It should not take more than three forge gunners to deal with any number of tanks, at least in pubs.
It's the 2v1 at the beginning that throws out the numbers.

First off i use a 3 man tank because I have alot of friends who love to gun for me so I have 2 small guns on my tank if you split up the roles it would mean 4 seats in the tank so all I got to do is have 1 guy drive I use main gun and two guys on small guns and put defend order on tank hey LOOK MORE WP and me and my gunners normally get over 2-3k+ WP EACH every game just think about it if it was 4
Next you yes limited solo tanking but those like me wouldn't be effected and if anything you just promoting the pub stomping we have now where you have a squad dominating do you know how effective the tank would be if it was setup the way you are talking I would love it I wouldn't have to worry about driving because believe it or not thats the main thing thats fucks up a tanker like for example say your shooting a blaster tank and you do enough dmg that he backs up to run their is a 50% chance he will run into a wall or something making him an easy target and at teh same time he would have stopped firing while backing up if the roles were split that means all the driver has to do it focus onb driving kinda like an LAV and the gunner wouldn't stop firing even if they were backing up and to top it off it makes aiming the main gun so m uch easier
so I want you to think about that and come up with a response cause even if CCP was to do that(which I know they won't )it wouldn't make it harder on me it would make it easier besides CCP can always make a tank variant that is based like that but it stronger but like what you want requires a gunner for main gun and a driver |

tanks are balanced in PC. Every tank you see is at least 450k and millions upon millions of SP to operate. They are rarely out on a mission to stomp infantry...well, sort of. Each team will have 1 infantry stomper tank and probably 3-5 rail tanks protecting the blaster tank/sniping ADS'.
it works because the losing team will quickly go bankrupt and each team has multiple tanks of similar skill. In PC, the balance is more an issue of how worthless Madrugars in in TvT battles; hell, if you see a madrugar blaster, it's either a noob or one of the best tankers in Dust.
CCP did a great job of balancing tanks around PC, which is what we asked for, but at the same time, this balance screwed everyone outside of PC.
I guess...add webifiers.
