so, many of us know about it for ages now - but still it is not even included in the known-issues section - even though it is the no doubt most embarrassing flaw of Dust514 and does alone hinder it completely from becoming a competitive shooter or anything more than flawed second-rate stuff here on PS3, where we like to use our gampads from comfortable armchairs out because we want it to be like that (and not because we wouldn't be willing to spend additional 10 bucks for a keyboard like some ueber-trolls say...).
to explain the problem in detail for once: in Dust514, super-rapid strafe-direction-changes executed from a keyboard out (mostly while wearing a Medium-Frame on the field) result in a up to 70%-ish damage-reduction-cheat (even when the cheater keeps "dancing" on the same spot like this and you stand right in front of him unloading a full clip of an AR/ ACR/ ASCR/ RR into his Medium-Frame - it still manages just barely to deplete half it's shields)!
even worse: the cheater can even still use a gampad for the aiming part additionally to get ueber-troll-cheater-like acces to aim-assist AT THE SAME TIME he uses a keyboard to perform his damage-reduction-cheat dance-moves!
i am certain that fixing this ridiculous situation should have been CCP's sole number one priority before anything else on it's agenda for Dust514 since ages ago - as it is definitely needed to finally forfill the absolute minimum requirements for a competitive shooter on PS3, to not enable such harshly impacting cheatings here - and like that opening up the road for any "grabs for the stars" of high goals and stuff. but to completely keep quiet about it instead? how unbelievable low CCP!
even though it is a well known issue and easily replicateable, i know i would probably need a capture-card and a PC and YouTube-spam about it before you would bother with precious resources about it - but after such a long time, please do the right thing about it for once and just finally fix it please CCP!
and even though the method of fixing it seems rather secondary, my suggestions would be to either set a real-world realistic hard-cap of successful different strafe-direction inputs per second of 2 - or at least pull the so far failed Dust514-special toy of KB/M support on PS3 altogether untill a proper solution can be implemented - but whatever you do about it or still not CCP, finally stop ignoring the issue please! |

Use less words and explain what the hell your saying a bit better. Maybe you did explain it more in this letter soup but I couldn't get past paragraph one.
What I think your trying to say is; "kb/m can strafe much faster than a ds3 can aim and strafe."

oh, cute - another child admitting publicly that it is too young or too retar*** to read a report, calling it even "letter soup"... XD . |

Wow, you degraded into insulting others very quickly.
First he had a point. Which was: The near wall of test mean few will read it, must less comment or like it.
Second we have known about this since the KB/M was first supported in Dust514. Combined with the server auto lag time of 200ms it can not be avoided in any standard method for a 'competitive* FPS'. The server takes too long to respond and they don't have the experience in house to solve the issue. Nor does there seem to be any interest for doing so.
What does your post have to bring to the table? Nothing but more QQ from yet another Kitten on these forums. That and a quick personal attack when you get a bit of advice.
While I understand your frustration this subject has been raised hundreds of times and absolutely nothing has been done except to improve the Aim Assist, or as a friend of mine calls it - Auto Aim.
Welcome to Dust.
* What does competitive even mean in this context? Dust is a mid level, barely functional FPS that was cheaply made with minimal team size and less support. And its biggest selling point is its dubious connection to EVE Online and it 10s of thousands of PC players.
And so it goes.

so are you going to complain because you have no pressure sensitive action on your KB? the max speed is the same on both. you cannot move at the same rate because you are physically unable to does not mean it is a problem. a comparison of you current issue: i run to the corner in ten seconds it takes you 12 we both were wearing conterfit nikes you blame the shoes. this "issue has been debunked several times , the paramiters are the same for both. if you cant strafe as fast as a keyboard its because you suck.

Have you ever tried changing strafe directions on the keyboard?
Every dropsuit has a momentum / acceleration stat. I can strafe back and forth exactly as fast on the DS3 as with the keyboard. The only trick is to slow down when you're using the DS3, since if you go too fast you overdo it and don't move at all. You cannot dodge bullets with a keyboard. All it does is make the aimbot lock onto you even harder. |

yea, i hate those dancing queens as well. anytime i die to them i think "why dont they play dance, dance revolution"?
i just try to strafe backwards to one side and also aim a bit, because i think that keeps the autoaim from relogging all the time, while i need range for this and when the enemy is to close.. them i'm death without a chance.
i think i remember this from countersticke (oh boy... pre 1.0 i played that...) and one day i did hear from people that you will now miss if you move. i think that you should hit when you just move a bit, but your aim should go down like a drunken... when you do this left/right/back/forward stuff, since a normal human would also fall over his own feet doing stuff like this.
well.. maybe keyboard players see this as a way to even out the DS3 autoaim, but we have that to make up for what a mouse can do. over all i also see this dancing as unfair play and a way to abuse the system, but since eve rewards stuff like this.. i wouldnt wonder if something big would have to happen before they "fix" it. |

CCP will never take away the KBM because Eve players would rage quit and that would be bad business.
At the same time CCP gives us aim assist so the console players can play even and everyone hates the TTK. Nerf buff rebalance... endless cycle.

fyi, armor plates apply a double penalty to your strafe speed. What you may be seeing is guys running with no pants. |

Yep, Beren has a pretty long thread somewhere in general discussion, I think, where he was testing it. The assumption right now is that the strafing penalty is only meant to be half as strong as it currently is. A few builds ago it even made it harder to track a target because it slowed your turn speed too, though I'm pretty sure that was removed. |
