I think if you improve AV the suicide LAVs will dwindle, but we should leave them as a sandbox option. They're not overpowered, and the unpredictability keeps things interesting and keeps you on your toes. (I personally want battles to be less predictable than they are right now. Removing options makes it more predictable.)
The bigger problem I have with LAVs is that they don't take damage or speed loss when ramming infantry. I appreciate that road kill is a legitimate tactic at high speeds, but impact should have effect on a LAV, if only to reduce speed and prevent you from road-killing multiple infantry in one pass. It's true that this really affects only a handful of situations. But at least the road-killing LAVs are low-risk relative to the damage they're causing, while suicide LAVs are guaranteed loss for a relatively low level of success.

Everything should have speed loss when hit by something. If any av hits a tank they shouldn't be able to speed off. Durpships lose control, so the other vehicles need the same hurdle.

I dunno... I kinda like bowling with a JEEP! :-) It's lovely when people are all grouped up or almost in formation and you come from behind or the side and smash 3 or 4 of them, lol. In real life, cars generally can hit people and keep going full speed if they don't let off the gas... I don't see why it should be much difference here. Only exception to this in my opinion should be heavy suits... maybe that should slow it down a bit, but not tremendously enough that they cease to move. Maybe 15% drop in speed or something, but allow it to accelerate back quickly enough that 2 or 3 seconds of accelerating will get them back to max speed.
What would be more interesting is if it kind of rolled over them and threw the wheels off a bit so you don't know where you will go and must fight to keep control. THAT would be kinda cool.

Highly suggests? It says nothing else lol. Not sure I really understand the confusion except the OP's apparently uncertain statements of what he wants. Not sure why he felt the need to edit his post and suggest ppl don't read.....

So would I but AV doesnt need a huge buff. If you want to make short term buffs then minimalistic changes need to be made fo AV damage modules to make them competitive. This does not mean they need huge increases.
Most changes need to occur on the part of the HAV.
Eventually AV numbers have to stabilise, after which HAV and vehicles can be balanced around AV, not AV balanced around 1 vehicle frame which we know is supposed to the heaviest and most durable.
Considering our light vehicles both ground and air based HAV is still sitting in a place where a skilled AVer can solo a light (LAV) or Mid frame (Dropship) vehicle. This I feel is a safe place to sit.
I want AV to be competitive as well, I miss feeling vulnerable.
AV numbers eventually have to stabilise and I feel it would be better to see HAV units as the durable high ISK and skill intensive units they are (although the 1.7 HAV are pretty unbalanced) instead of units everyone and their mother can spam, solo, etc.
Make no mistake I dont particularly like the HAV dynamic of 1.7
Rail > than everything.

No. Fix the redline. Tanks in play are not too hard to kill. Red liners are only weak vs JLAVs and glass cannons

Which nerf are you talking about? The kind of nerf that makes anything absolutely useless or the nerf meant to make something retain its competitiveness but not be overpowering anymore? Looking at Judge's videos, he's talking about the latter.

I remember him saying that it should take 2-3 shots from a AIFG to kill a hardened HAV, similar to a DS, and I loled at him and left the channel.
