Second respec got me another two mil in them, up to a total 13M. Down to about 8-9M these days because I was sick of the BS. Missiles are bringing back the old joy. The fittings I make to efficiently deal with enemy tanks (in pubs, of course) are less than optimally durable against even swarm launchers (my nitro is a more reliable defense than my shield hardener IMO). What does that make me? Real men do it with missiles. "True says I have to let Lorhak yell at people in PIE GC from now on."

When the respec hit for 1.0, went straight back in, though I never invested much in tanks (About four million, which at the time was well over half my SP) As soon as 1.7 dropped though, I ditched them in favor of some core skills and a suit. With everyone talking about tanks it reminded me that I made a Tank alt back at the very beginning of uprising. I never did much with it when I made it initially because it didn't have much SP, so I just let it accrue Passive SP. Came back to it a couple months ago and it had about ~6mil SP to use on tanks.(~9mil SP now though.) I use Large Missiles primarily, but recently began using the other turrets as well. While Missiles are fun, sometimes the situation just calls for a Blaster or a Rail Gun. I'm not going to be stubborn and only ever run Missiles, having a variety of tank fits is important. *FIRE UP THE HEAVY MEAT GRINDER! WE'RE HAVIN' CLONE BURGERS TONIGHT, BOYS!*

Lately I tried using the large state missile turret on a sica and decided to spec into tanks because they are so much fun and provide some sort of a challenge. I hate how powerful tanks are in 1.7 and remember how they were back is chrome. I support buffing av, I am a dropship pilot at heart but am getting tiered of rail tanks ruining all my fun so I'm trying out new things. A few days ago my crew and I killed 3 gunnis in a game and must have killed about 6 by the end of the night with std state missiles and no damage mods. What would you classify me as?

I made a shield tanker and an armor tanker char when I first started playing, which was a month before Uprising was released. I then recreated my shield tanker on its own account for the sake of passive sp just before 1.7. I love tanks in RL as well as this game, but I suck at using missiles to overcoming rails and double hardened maddies. I am pretty good at evading rails and missiles when on my maddy with a blaster. I reluctantly specced into rails and suck at using those. I can surprisingly one shot infantry with missiles. What does that make me? Rommel, you magnificent bastard, I read your book!

Surprisingly enough, even when AV was OP, infantry still made threads here complaining that they couldn't solo some tankers. Remember: when infantry complained about contact grenades, they were nerfed into the ground. When tankers complained about AV grenades, infantry said "LOL HTFU" and that was that. HAVs could. I'm pretty sure that my rifle has always had longer range than your grenade. Dishonest arguments anyway, considering how straightforward it was to rush a tank in a LAV and destroy it with AV grenades. Real men do it with missiles. It is, however, entirely possible in my personal experience, to set up a position where a tank MUST retreat. LogiLAVs and AV nades made it easy. Finally. I'm operating within the confines of the game, if you bring tanks to my house I will blow them up one way or another. if you want to cry about SP, I needed to invest my sp into tanks as well, so it's not like you are alone for wasted sp.

What I meant to say is that if you considered that tanks were 'deciding the outcome of matches' even during post-Chromo pre-1.7 you have no choice and will have that forge in your grip for the rest of eternity. nah up until 1.7, tanks didn't interfere with matches as much, I would blow up tanks that did but it was rare I ever "needed" to kill a tank, they did their damage but we could operate around 1 or 2 tanks. in 1.7 tanks "need" to be removed for the rest of the roles to operate properly, now it's 6 tanks and their blaster murder everyone even tanks, and even if you kill them they come back in seconds, you need dedicated "removers".
