I'm an old school honey badger. I didn't have enough sp to really be a tanker during chrome, but I stuck with it all the way until now...not putting it down either, 14 mil and counting. |

I re-specced from scouting into tanks in 1.1 and am just now hitting half invested in dropsuits because I'm disgusted with what they did to tanks in 1.8.
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

I started in chrome and put 5 of my 8M in tanks in the uprising respec. Second respec got me another two mil in them, up to a total 13M.
Down to about 8-9M these days because I was sick of the BS.
Missiles are bringing back the old joy. The fittings I make to efficiently deal with enemy tanks (in pubs, of course) are less than optimally durable against even swarm launchers (my nitro is a more reliable defense than my shield hardener IMO).
What does that make me?
Real men do it with missiles.

i was a beast on any map back then :P that one was just particularly bad, and where i earned my "snipe someone falling out of an MCC midair with a railgun" achievment
line harvest was also a pretty awesome railgun map for my mountain tank. |

1.7 militia tanker only to counter tank spam. My Sica will 2-shot any EZ-mode blaster tank. I only target installations and other tanks.
My KD/R is 0.47 so I'm not a KD/R wh0re. So I guess I am a 'Fake Tanker.' I don't blast helpless infantry so I'm not a scrub tanker. I never run from a tank fight or get out when I'm about too die, I die with my tank.
And if theres no enemy tanks or we already have 2 tanks on the field I'll recall my tank. I take revenge on tankers blasting helpless infantry, and I REALLY like blowing sh!t up! Infantry doesn't explode when you shoot it, vehicles do.
I will pop you tank duna. I WILL.

True blue I suppose. Started a few months before uprising and kept going. When the respec hit for 1.0, went straight back in, though I never invested much in tanks (About four million, which at the time was well over half my SP) As soon as 1.7 dropped though, I ditched them in favor of some core skills and a suit.
Nova Knives are OP! Nerf em before you lose all your proto suits!

Ok, I admit Charlotte, I have an alt just for that. But mainly because, "who's gonna take care of the garbage (aka red tanks)? We're not risking ISK to keep a tank off our backs".

I only really started Tanking in 1.7, please don't start calling me bad names. 
With everyone talking about tanks it reminded me that I made a Tank alt back at the very beginning of uprising. I never did much with it when I made it initially because it didn't have much SP, so I just let it accrue Passive SP. Came back to it a couple months ago and it had about ~6mil SP to use on tanks.(~9mil SP now though.)
I use Large Missiles primarily, but recently began using the other turrets as well. While Missiles are fun, sometimes the situation just calls for a Blaster or a Rail Gun. I'm not going to be stubborn and only ever run Missiles, having a variety of tank fits is important.
FIRE UP THE HEAVY MEAT GRINDER! WE'RE HAVIN' CLONE BURGERS TONIGHT, BOYS!

My tanker alt? Since 1.3, specced his first 500k into armor reps.
Took me till 5 million SP to be able to survive 4 militia swarm shots.
Sad to say though, that build was really BS when my triple carapice hardener, 180poly and efficient heavy rep couldnmt survive 3 proto swarm shots and an av nade. That was when i put it down for a while, as i lost my 900k tank to a 120k swarm fit, instantly.

I speced into tanks a little In chrome then reinvested the sp to help my dropship in uprising. Lately I tried using the large state missile turret on a sica and decided to spec into tanks because they are so much fun and provide some sort of a challenge. I hate how powerful tanks are in 1.7 and remember how they were back is chrome. I support buffing av, I am a dropship pilot at heart but am getting tiered of rail tanks ruining all my fun so I'm trying out new things. A few days ago my crew and I killed 3 gunnis in a game and must have killed about 6 by the end of the night with std state missiles and no damage mods.
What would you classify me as? |

What got me started back in chromosome was psychotic shooter video is his surya but I went into sagaris because I liked shield tanks. Dude I miss those tanks sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo freeeeeking bad.
I hid in redlines for matches in chromosome because whole team had proto AV sometimes and It was too dangerous for my sagaris. I could take on 2-3 PROTO FG but when you ADD in the annoying noobs I normally stayed back. (favorite tank map was manus peak) |
