I know CCP has it's hands full with other things, so I'm not really QQing here but I do want to know how will NPC pirates actually be implemented or at least what could the future offer for pirate factions such as the Bloor Raider?
Currently we have little to go on when it comes to pirate factions other than we fight for them in public matches. I feel that we could be doing a lot more with them. I could imagine we run missions with them and lose standing for the factions we're committing these acts on. I could also imagine that pirate contracts would be of a much higher difficulty level than other contracts as well.

If we did serve pirate factions and I can see some very interesting game modes/ mechanics in the furthest darkest reaches of my mind, I suppose we would require a true standing models inclusive of security status, CONCORD presence, etc.
Well technically we all started out as Mordu's legion, though MORDU is really tame compared to the other pirate factions...Sansha Kuvali...that guy is off his nutter, and Blood raiders...eat people. |

I don't think any of us started off a Legion Members and Mordu's Legion is not truly considered a Pirate Faction, they are more of a Mercenary Group......but I guess I'll have to look into that so I can be up to date lore wise.

I don't see why we can't have an option to join them again. It would be AWESOME if they had their own type of FW

Well from what I remember not every faction was pirate but there were a lot more factions. I based my character off of the original Sarum Imperial Guard.... but there were cool groups like
Arkombine, Angel Cartel< Serpentis, Nation, etc...much more varied than just empire factions.

And I didn't really think of us being able to join pirate factions... That brings a lot more ideas into my head. Aside from the role play aspect, I can imagine that pirate factions would give you plenty risk but lots of reward.

I for one am really interested in one day getting Pirate Faction drop suits.
I like the idea of having to skill into different racial combinations to get some serious perks similar to the method used in EVE.
Example: Gurista Assault might require Lvl 5 CalLogi and Lvl 5 GalAssault. You get a drop suit that has the Cal helmet and Gallente body with a sporty color scheme. For Gurista Assault you get the 5% reduction of CPU/PG per level for light weapons and sidearms as with all Assaults but they get 5% bonus to sprint speed per level and they also get Light weapon, sidearm, and 2 equipment slots. Probably roll with 4/3 slot layout.

Eventually Dust should have these as viable avenues open to us, leaving us with mercenary, assassin, loyalist, pirate, and concord bounty hunter. Mind I'm talking years and if Dust goes that far.
Pirates factions, not being able to take land for themselves could also potentially raid closed PC districts and rob them of isk. As a consequence, we could have a concord faction that specializes in chasing them down.

This is true about land taking but each faction has a home system they could operate out of.

Yeah, I think the penalty might be a problem considering that the majority of the players in Dust don't really know about the complicated side of New Eden.
If there was some type of clean slate system where you could start off with a clean slate but at a major cost, it would be fine.

I always wondered who influenced each pirate faction. Thought the Gallente were pretty "clean" because I didn't see anything specific but at the same time that didn't make sense.

Either you didn't read the reply to that, or you misinterpreted what I said just like he did.
The races I put with each faction are the skills that you have to have to fly a pirate factions ship. (hence why I said influenced tech I.e. based on. i.e. Mega blocks being based on Legos i.e. I can't simplify it any more for you to understand.)
Example: To fly a Stratios (A Sisters of EVE Ship) you have to have Gallente and Amarr skills.
Plain and simple. I did not say these were the origins of the Pirate Factions themselves.

..... Well there is plenty of lore on them out there... if you are willing to look. If people cant even stomach what the regular empires do how could they ever hope to be pirate mercenaries? If we did serve pirate factions and I can see some very interesting game modes/ mechanics in the furthest darkest reaches of my mind, I suppose we would require a true standing models inclusive of security status, CONCORD presence, etc. Well technically we all started out as Mordu's legion, though MORDU is really tame compared to the other pirate factions...Sansha Kuvali...that guy is off his nutter, and Blood raiders...eat people. I don't think any of us started off a Legion Members and Mordu's Legion is not truly considered a Pirate Faction, they are more of a Mercenary Group......but I guess I'll have to look into that so I can be up to date lore wise.
From the book Mordu's legion is in charge of distribution of Dust Tech.

Currently we have little to go on when it comes to pirate factions other than we fight for them in public matches. I feel that we could be doing a lot more with them. I could imagine we run missions with them and lose standing for the factions we're committing these acts on. I could also imagine that pirate contracts would be of a much higher difficulty level than other contracts as well.
I would love to see a blood paint job on a suit and I would like it more if the suit was different than the standard.
