My corp and I do MIL/STD fitting nights just for lawls. We kill protobears with a fierceness. A six man squad can do some pretty incredible things if you have a good role make-up and cooperative squadmates.
Also: melting prototype suits in a STD caldari assault suit my no-no bits happy.

I have 30+ Mil SP. You want to know what my 2 most used fits are:
Gal G-1 logi, with all militi BP except for the adv CR Gal Scout, all militia gear except ADV R. Explosives.
My LEAST used fit is my FULL Proto Gal Logi.
Protostomping new players in ambush is lame, but saying that new players CAN NOT be dangerous on the field is incorrect. |

Don't get me wrong, some of the stuff needed to be nerfed, but CCP always takes it too far. then I have to deal with all the other new guys complaining that X weapon is OP when you're running around in militia gear, what do you expect is going to happen? It's not like I even regularly proto stomp either.

Perhaps you are meant to join into 6 man teams (I haven't decided what to call them yet) and coordinate your attacks; effectively increasing your power through tactics.
Man, I hope something like that gets implemented one day. Six man squads of cannon-fodder are still easy kills. In fact I love them as they actually make my HMG feel like a heavy weapon. CCP should force them to squad up as a feature of matchmaking so us Vets can pad our KDR more.
Good luck getting those newbs into decent Corps or good squads. Riley you know darn well squads are going to either ignore unknowns or kick them when a higher SP buddy shows up. There is little point in you blindly defending CCP on this crap.

Ive got 130 armor,170 shield, and a militia AR. I'm going up against heavies with 750 shield and 1000 armor. I can fuckin LAY into them with an entire clip, and if they turn around and EVEN SNEEZE at me I'm dead quicker then I can blink.
You wanna know why your game is trash? Because theres 8 of these heavies rolling around in a goddamn pack while my team is spead out over a mile wide map thats a barren fuckin wasteland with 1980s graphics.
Meanwhile don't forget the fuckin tanks. Your "anti armor" fit with 6 rockets can even kill a fuckin jeep or a turret let alone a goddamn tank that can easily sponge all 6 shots without even a goddamn hardener, and again, kill you with a fuckin sneeze.
You want new players? HOW ABOUT MAKING IT SO MILITIA ISNT TOTALLY FUCKIN USELESS TRASH THAT DOESN'T STAND A SINGLE FUCKIN CHANCE IN HELL AT EVEN KILLING ANYTHING, AND THAT YOU DON'T GET FUCKIN INSTA KILLED BY ANYTHING & EVERYTHING.
Now then. Go **** yourselves and take your garbage game and your down syndrome made balance, and shove it up your asses. I'll never play this trash again. A lot of people are going to take this chance to ridicule you, but I understand why you're upset. The starter fits are pretty useless against enemies playing in a squad, and the game in general has a steep learning curve for new players. If you do choose to play this game again I have some advice... Try to join an active corp, fast. Don't play Ambush yet. You don't have the killing capacity for this deathmatch mode. Play Domination or better yet, Skirmish and just defend objectives. It's more active defending a lone, quiet objective than you would think, and you won't get caught off guard because the enemy is coming to you. Don't bother with heavies unless you Flux grenade them (destroys shields instantly), remote explosive them as they come around a corner, shotgun them from behind, or have back up. Don't atack them from the front. Fighting a heavy requires more srategy than fighting AS a heavy. Heavies are easy mode, I don't care what anyone says. If you have a hard time playing as a heavy, then you suck at life, and probably can't play as anything. I suck at playing heavy.... So I use a logi and a rep tool
Okay. Why are you telling me this? lol Good job helping the team though and not rageing too hard.

i love how hard the TC was raging, good stuff, but i do agree with the TC on CCP making his team be all spread out not helping him be the jewel that lights up the night sky that he knows he is. thats major bogusness on CCP's part

My squad of tryhard window lickers makes PRO sentinel pudding frequently enough. Your HMG might kill one of us (in a STD suit, btw) but the other five will kill you.
Sounds like you're either over exaggerating in a big way or have been fighting squads that are somehow worst than mine... which is impossible.

I don't defend CCP. I call it like I see it: Dust was never meant to be a single player game and your chances of survival increase significantly from being in a squad. Proof of concept: my barely-sentient dipshits gets 2.0+ K/D nearly every fight when we squad up.

Hell, I tried telling them that new content is going to be released this month and they just LITERALLY said (over Facebook), "lol I'm not going to play Dust. That game's trash. You should buy a new game. How about I buy you one of the new ones?"
He offered to buy me a game rather then to feel sorry for me still playing this game after months when they quit in their first week.
The only friends that still play are the ones that I met on Dust. My corp either refuses to spend money on videogames or they just play this game because they have hope and actually enjoy if and only if our same 4 guys are on.
It's sad, really. |

Gamers today want instawin buttons and the dev to hold their little hand while playing the game. This why I like dust, it is challenging and ccp are trolls.

Doesn't that limit their potential player base
I've played in squads where I'm the only random and as long as the other people are aware of what my limitations are as a Heavy I'm a benefit to the team. (I change from Rep-mmando to HMG Sentinel)
That hasn't happened very often though. A lot of the matches I've played in where I was put into a nearly full squad of people from the same corporation would start with them calling vehicles and blasting away to an objective while I have to haul my fat arse about 500 meters.
They seriously need PvE for the casual gamer.

Yes, it does. Ask CCP if they care. They want you to form bonds with people in your contact list, corporation, and alliance. Bonds keep you playing day after day, even when patches take 3+ months and balancing is ******. Ask most of the bitter vets here why they are playing. I bet their answers are something like, "I like to hang out with my friends and play a couple of matches."
Interplanetary Insanitarium wrote:I've played in squads where I'm the only random and as long as the other people are aware of what my limitations are as a Heavy I'm a benefit to the team. (I change from Rep-mmando to HMG Sentinel)
Then you aren't soloing. You may not trust these people with your life or anything, but you are playing in a squad. That is exactly what CCP wants. I bet if they knew they could get away with it they would force everyone into squads.
Interplanetary Insanitarium wrote:They seriously need PvE for the casual gamer.
A-*******-men. I want PvE in a bad way. Co-op PvE would cause me to actually spend real money on this game on a very regular basis (not AUR gear, mind you; active and passive boosters please).

^Yes ,it does. People forget this is a PS3 game. The PS3 playerbase is by far and large, casual players. They pick up a controller, play a few matches of this game, play a few matches of that game, turn off the console and then go about their lives. Sometimes they dont play a game for weeks.
People who make a videogame into their life, thats more of the PC market.
CCP is in a unique position. They are offering a free to play on PS3. As more people switch to PS4, all those PS3 are going to be sold cheaply, and then bought by people who only bought it cause of the firesale price. By that time, Dust 514 could be one of the few games remaining still getting support and content updates, and still hosting a playerbase. They could expand into a robust playerbase and it becomes a very profitable venture.
However, if the game keeps up with this squad bull****, most of those people will play Dust for 20mins, close it, and instead just go to the store and buy a used PS3 game for 5$. Even if they do play this game time to time, they will never like it enough to buy AUR in it. Ive stuck to this game longer than everyone I told to give it a try. And even that, im a very long way off from buying AUR.
I just dont get why squads have to be in every gamemode. i get having squads in Planetary Conquest or Factional Warfare. But using squads to steamroll rookie solo players in "Public Contracts". Whats the point? To chase away the future playerbase?
And finally, why do people keep saying "I like a challenge, thats why I squad up with proto folks and stomp noobs".(Cause seeking every advantage is clearly the more challenging way to play). How could anyone call a game with Aim Assist a "challenge"? Thats like saying "Im good at smooth gear changes while driving my automatic transmission car". |
