Perhaps you are meant to join into 6 man teams (I haven't decided what to call them yet) and coordinate your attacks; effectively increasing your power through tactics.
Man, I hope something like that gets implemented one day.
I seriously want NOTHING do to with people in game. I dont know why some people have such a hard time with that concept. I downloaded a FPS to pla on my PS3, not a board game. The only reason I want other players is to give more challenging targets
I get home at midnight, i dont want to be talking to my TV like a madman while people around me sleep. i dont want to have peoples breathing and complaining and useless chitchat in my ear. I have tons of friends in my everyday life, i come home for some alone time, not because i want to go online and find lonely people to hang out with.
Squads are by far the worst part of the game. Not because the idea of teamwork sucks, but because they cant just give a mode where people can just join and play. A squad should be a luxury, not a necessity. Its like forcing you to spend time with a bunch of people you normally wouldnt. Kinda creepy in that regard.
Believe it or not, but not everyone thinks a game with Aim Assist is a competitive game. if anything, any game where the PS3 does your aiming for you is casual. Why cant we have a casual, regular mode then?

Without new players, the game stagnates and dies, and then you dont have Dust 514 to play anymore. |

Doesn't that limit their potential player base
^Yes ,it does. People forget this is a PS3 game. The PS3 playerbase is by far and large, casual players. They pick up a controller, play a few matches of this game, play a few matches of that game, turn off the console and then go about their lives. Sometimes they dont play a game for weeks.
People who make a videogame into their life, thats more of the PC market.
CCP is in a unique position. They are offering a free to play on PS3. As more people switch to PS4, all those PS3 are going to be sold cheaply, and then bought by people who only bought it cause of the firesale price. By that time, Dust 514 could be one of the few games remaining still getting support and content updates, and still hosting a playerbase. They could expand into a robust playerbase and it becomes a very profitable venture.
However, if the game keeps up with this squad bull****, most of those people will play Dust for 20mins, close it, and instead just go to the store and buy a used PS3 game for 5$. Even if they do play this game time to time, they will never like it enough to buy AUR in it. Ive stuck to this game longer than everyone I told to give it a try. And even that, im a very long way off from buying AUR.
I just dont get why squads have to be in every gamemode. i get having squads in Planetary Conquest or Factional Warfare. But using squads to steamroll rookie solo players in "Public Contracts". Whats the point? To chase away the future playerbase?
And finally, why do people keep saying "I like a challenge, thats why I squad up with proto folks and stomp noobs".(Cause seeking every advantage is clearly the more challenging way to play). How could anyone call a game with Aim Assist a "challenge"? Thats like saying "Im good at smooth gear changes while driving my automatic transmission car". |
