Scouts will have big problems because it will be hard to hide from a proto scanner which shares info with ALL squad mates....the higher TTK means the alpha chance is reduced, but sadly the little HP a scout can have means they will die just as fast. HMG heavies will rule 1.8, if they give them the slowed turn speed back, maybe it would make sense, but the quick turn speed means a sneak attack on them won't mean much.....also NK are the worst weapons when the enemy is moving.....they need to be able to charge while sprinting |

Gallente heavies will have at max 1810 EHP according to my math, and other races will be lower.
With Ishukone Nova Knives and enough damage bonuses to get you to 250 base damage, you'll be able to dispatch any heavy with one charge swipe and one regular swipe, assuming all four hits connect.
Otherwise you'll need two remotes or four shotgun hits to kill these heavies. |

And they can be scanned all the same, a HMG does more than 600 DPS, you will still have a rough time taking them out. I am talking PCs only, I don't care about PUBs. A Cal scout will not be able to see other scouts....scan damp starts at 35 and precision starts at 45...you will need to carry 2 complex enhancers because in PC everyone will try and get under the magic 15. |

Scouts can still fit CRs and be unscannable with knives and REs, I suspect they will do just fine Scouts are used for recon? Since when? Better whip out the scanner I'll be getting bonuses for. The only unscanable scout come 1.8 will be gallente unless you're cloaked which has a timer. And since when was the combat rifle a scout weapon?
For Gal/Cal scouts in 1.8, their passive scan is their 'active scan bonus' for team play - though proxy scanners on a gal logi could make it bit redundant - ill have to check the stats.
I'm pretty content with the way things are heading so far...but obviously there are still some concerns to be addressed.

It's a good thing that neither weapons were changed, as everything else got nerfed.

I see no nerf, yet.
Hey, what about this: we play the game AND THEN judge if the weapons got nerfed or not.
If anything, right now, I'd say the scouts are getting a buff. |

Is it a nerf? Maybe. Is it dropping their effectiveness to below that of what others are being reduced to? Hell no.
Scouts will find a way to make their weapon work: it may be to throw an uncooked Flux before they knife, or to bring a shotty as well (!?) and blast a few after their initial 1400 alpha. A Combat rifle will still be usable as its damage compression(DPS at hipfire within an area) is still being awesome.
Also a scouts job isn't simply to 'knife the heavy'
You could for instance, drop the logi supporting the heavy, along with 2-all of his support assaults, commandos and other scouts. Leaving the heavy to try and fight off 2-16 people alone. With no repairs/ammo/support fire for when he reloads.
Also: who says you have to kill the heavy in 1 hit? Slice him once, run away. Wait for his shields to replenish so he has false security, then knife the rest of his HP away. I feel this would be much more fun for a scout, as you didn't fool him once, you fooled him twice(!).
