Now that the damage mods have been nerfed, which was very well needed but now they are somewhat useless.
So what else is there to put in highslots for a armor tanker like me?
I guess I'm going over to Dual tanking now. :/
Moral of the story: We need more highslot modules CCP you've got everything in the lows.

I have said this before but I am still going to stack damage mods on my assault MD. Because basically the damage reduction on the damage mods in negligible and the MD buff makes up for that. So...3 complex dam mods in my high slot and I also get a innate armor rep. Nothing has really changed and I can still spam the weapon pretty well.

Excluding the Shield modules there are only three modules two use.
Precision Modifiers - (not really worth it on a suit with no scan range)
Myrofibril Stimulants - Do I have to explain this one?
Damage mods - Maybe just one just to fill a spot but more hp is better than 5% more damage now.
The other 3/6 are shield modules, so guess what new problem CCP just exacerbated?

The logi is getting a 5+ to scan range but a reduction to precision, I imagine a precision mod. would be potentially useful.

Logis can be flexible with how they have their slot layout however this still leaves the other suits besides scouts kicking in the dirt with that module.

We would need modules completely separated from EVE, because nothing else that EVE offers(except the hardenders and boosters) would really transfer over.

If we had drones I can only imagine Drone Related Modules would go in highslots.

Codebreakers and all profile mods should be high slot mods imo.
Especially profile damps. Sure extenders don't have a profile penalty like eve but they can be indirectly connected in a one vs other scenario.
Codebreakers cause it is also and ewar mod and ewar seems to be a gallente specialty.
Reactive plates maybe too? ... I know when they were release a lot of peeps said reactive plates would make a nice high slot mod.

See, I brought up Optimal Range extenders and people thought it was OP. Because TTK is what is now, Optimal Range and RoF Enhancers could definitely work.
Reinforced plates could be awesome too.

CCP has shown blatant favoritism to Caldari ever since Modru's Private Trails.
Shield suits have 6 more modules they can sink their teeth into than armor.
and If you want to get rid of defense based modules it's 3 Highslots and 8 highslots.

I do have a question though IWS. When CCP decided to give the most ridiculous blanket nerf to all weapons Did they even think about the weapons that were already suffering thus didn't need a nerf? 1 Example: Breach Assault Rifle was worthless before, now you might as well take it out of the game with only 300 DPS.
Did you guys try to warn them about this blanket thinking CCP seems to love?

Based on talks with the developers I know the following.
The individual nerfs to specific weapons were handed out by generated numbers specifically looking into the ttk issue.
The nerf on the damage mods was probably included those with intolerable amounts of TTK typically probably overstacked the damage mods.
The altering of damage vs armor on proficiency was probably a systematic design to make shields and armor choices matter more.
Remember the goal is to make it so that when you slap on an armor plate its noticable, when you slap on a shield extender its noticable, when you slap on a damage mod its noticeable. Different fits will feel different. We're not aiming for halo levels of ttk but we're not being in the instant blap thing either.
While CCP may be doing too much at once again they have reasons for it. My hope is they continue with hotfix adjustments afterwards but well have to see once you guys start producing numbers.
We didn't warn them we're sorta trusting ccp on this as these decisions seem grounded on good goals and intentions.
What did blindside us the indirect AV nerf so it will be something me and the rest of the CPM will be discussing.

you underestimate how GOOD damage mods are now.
on the surface they are less then what we have now BUT, the proficiany nerf means that were going to be missing 15% of our off type damage.
aka a duvolle will be doing 15% less damage to armor.
damage mods are the only way to cancel out the efficiancy loss on off type damage. aka the only way to get the duvolle to do decent damage to armor.
your going to want to put damage mods in your high slots as gallante. |

here are all the counter shield weapons.
Plasma rifle? It used to before it become obsolete. That's 4 out of all 11 weapons that are supposed to be good against shields that are actually good.
Meanwhile in anti armor land you've got Combat Rifle [2] Rail Rifle [2] Mass Drivers [3] Flalock is garbage Sniper Rifles [3] Sniping Forgeguns [3] SMGs [3]
Did I miss any weapons ? Seems to me all but one of anti armor infantry weapons are in tip top shape that's 15/16 weapons being good.

the good ole duvolle will tear apart shields quite well, especially if yoru a gallante suit with dmg mods. |

The only thing that's the saving grace I got out of that is the hotfixes.
Maybe now since we aren't on a monthly cycle and 1.8 is out of the way we can see more hotfixes to iron things out because there wen't too many during the monthly cycle.

I don't see the point in a silent majority; these changes were known to be inbound in various and desire to change things in various forms and to be systematic sweeping publicly for a while just no hard numbers or details.
And you guys are NOW just complaining?
Welcome to discussion 4 months ago. I'll be happy to relay that we may have over nuked AV ability again to CCP though and get changes pushed through though.

These changes were known to be inbound and similar points were made in the past, but often these threads were met with "Oh, the details aren't final yet."
There were definitely threads about many of the same issues that are coming up now. They have been ignored. This has all been seen before - 1.2 plate stats, RR/CR stats, and a handful of other things. In each case, CCP have 'asked for feedback' and then completely ignored it.
Nice of you to welcome people to the discussion 4 months ago, though. It'd be nice if anyone outside CCP and the CPM actually knew that it was seriously being discussed.
