However as long as my MD remains a more skilled weapon I will not acknowledge that weapon as anything to be proud of. What about the Assault SR??? And the MD is wonderful if you have any sort of high ground on somebody. Especially right now considering everyone runs armor tanks. My LR is worse off because everyone is running armor tanks :( The ASR is an abomination worthy of a barrage of rounds from the barrels of a Hel. It shouldn't be as good as it is. I'd say it shouldn't even exist. Lol sinboto, I respected you up until about one sentence ago I think you need to try out the ASR and see that its pretty bad, especially right now! Dafuq?
I'm shredding everything in sight with the CRD-9. Have you ever used a damage mod boy?

LR is not useless, certainly, but it's infuriating getting taken down by RR scrubs in heavy suits in it's optimal. How a fully automatic weapon with the range of the LR, DPS and ease of use of the AR, no bullet trails, and a better scope than the old TAR made sense to anyone is difficult to comprehend.
Without the benefit of the Amarr assault bonus on my logi suits the LR just isn't viable. So I went back to the ScR and CR (similar mechanic but way less fitting cost).
For now....
What I don't understand is why CCP cant hotfix these things. Maybe its the fee for updating something through sony? But on EVE they do updates like every other day. They should be able to balance guns at the same rate! I mean, shouldn't they be able to keep the stats of the weapons we use server side? So that they can change them whenever they want to and not require us to download anything? Idk...... but yes, 1.8 is going to be my salvation!

But seriously, everyone says the SR is OP but hardly anyone uses them, at least not in comparison to the RR. If it were truly OP I would imagine more people would be using it. Everyone is brick tanking their suits in 1.7. Even Caldari are warring Plate. That gives the RR the edge. When TTK is increased it will make shields more viable, so less people will run armor plate. This will favour the Scrambler Rifle, and the Laser Rifle for that matter.
Add to that the fact that fully skilled Gallente Heavies will have a 15% resist to the RR, and the Scrambler Rifle will be very close to the RR there as well.

3 damage mods and proficiency 4 on my ASR is worse then 3 damage mods and proficieny 3 on my CR right now. (everyone is armor tanking) If shield tanking gets good again the ASR will probably be the polar opposite of the RR or CR.

Shield tanking would be nice to do again! I hope it gets more common. But honestly...... Im not sure how well my SR/LR is going to do against all the heavy spam that is forecasted.

I always carry hives with me, which sucks because I can run a scanner on my SR suit. So basically, yeah, because of the nature of the gun it goes through ammo pretty quick. Exactly my worry. Laser+Amarr assault sounds appealing but I <3 my scanner. It's not really viable on most logis either as you really need the sidearm, though Amarr logi might work. Well, in my opinion, you should only be engaging in long range anyway, so the scanner is less important. And im sure that by now you know how much of a crutch the scanners are. Considering there getting uber nerfed next build I would start getting off of them if I were you. I've been playing HMG heavy for two weeks, so I'm starting to get a feel for life without a scanner. But still tempted by a 1.8 nerf-busting dual scanner Gallente logi fit |

lolwut?
Please, the fitting/ISK costs on that thing are ridiculous (At ADV it's double the PG of the ACR, nearly double the ISK of the RR) and it's easily outclassed by the RR and ACR unless your target is shield tanked.
It's a good weapon but let's be realistic here.

Remnant's first statement on the matter was actually that they were hotfixing it (early January I think that was). I almost had a stroke but then he said a few days later that the coding was way more difficult than they anticipated somehow so it was pushed back to 1.8.

Yeah, it should be compared with all of that stuff, but unfortunately, you cant compare it with the AR because nobody uses the AR. Especially not on a competitive level. Which means the only realistic thing we can compare it with right now is the CR and RR. In which case, given the current meta game environment, the ASR is inferior.

Okay, but the RR is just one thing! Balance patches should be happening literally all the time in general! Not be put off for months on end so they can rap it properly in a nice little box surrounded by new content that they will also likely need to balance.
