You know what would be really cool? A tactical type slot for our helmet. Say at higher teirs dropsuits let you make changes to your HUD. Say You could add a module letting the player have night vision, heat vision, x-ray, a zoom in function, or maybe one that lets you lock onto enemies and permanently display them on your squadmates HUD as long as they are in you sights.

I would gladly skill into something that gave me a hud that had my sights in it and gave all my weapons a zoom. |

This is a good idea.
You could also have other ancilliary slots such as a tac net interface (share scan results, don't, more powerful scans, stronger scans near squadmates, long range etc). |

Tacnet Visual Data Uploader (Tacnet VDU)- Feeds data of enemy position into the Tacnet so long as visual contact is being made, but the data isn't perfectly accurate, like other devices. Higher teir versions work at longer ranges and provide more accurate data. "Intel Assists" are not rewarded for use of this object.
Standard- 40m effective range, 7m of possible innacuracy. Advanced- 75m effective range, 5m of possible inaccuracy. Advanced Flux- 150m of effective range, 10m of possible innacuracy. Prototype- 110m of effective range, 3m of possible innacuracy. Prototype Flux- 220m of effective range, 6m of possible inaccuracy. Prototype Focused- 60m of effective range, 1m of possible inaccuracy, keeps feeding data for 2 seconds after visual contact is lost.
Enhanced Optics- Allows the user to zoom in more while ADS. Higher tier versions provide a higher zoom fidelity.
Standard- 1.4x more ADS zoom Advanced- 1.7x more ADS zoom Prototype- 2.0x more ADS zoom
Vision Upgrade- Provides different vision filters to allow the mercenary to gain more battlefield awareness. Higher tiered version have higher quality lenses, and provide different features.
Standard- Provides Night Vision, but the feed is pretty grainy and doesn't provide crisp images at longer ranges. Advanced- Provides Night Vision, the feed is slightly grainy, but objects at distance can be distinguished easily enough. Advanced Thermal- Provides Thermal Vision, but the feed is very pixelated and it is is very difficult to move about on the battlefield while it is active. It looks like this. Prototype- Provides Night Vision, the feed is crisp and clear even at the most extreme of ranges. Prototype Thermal- Provides a much less pixelated image compared to the ADV version. The clearer image makes it slightly easier to navigate as well.
Totally not Fizzer94's forum alt. Definitely just a random dude.

+1 Great Idea.
This could also be expanded on when Commander Mode is implemented. A commander in the warbarge can access a the TacVision of a troop on the ground. |

I think it's a good idea but not sure if there is enough to fully flesh it out.
Going with better ADS zoom is a scope on a weapons job. Better passive scanning is precision enhancers/range amplifiers field.
Night vision is pretty meaningless when we can easily see in the night maps now. Thermal vision would be a great way to combat cloaking if done right but would need major downsides too. |

Already I see sniper bound tears coming from this. Would be nice but fixing the zoom on the weapons themselves would be a better idea imo.

I don't care if others see what i see, just a little heat vision and I'll reminisce on my days on BF3 where i charged with a semi-auto sniper with a thermal scope and shooting any body part that stuck out from any cover, yeah give me thermal vision and a CR

By zoom in i didnt really mean on weapons. I meant more along the lines of binocular type stuff. For when we have larger maps and we need to see what going on in an area before we assault it |

In general I support this idea. I would love to see more customization in the HUD, up to and including... being able to turn it off.
Knives don't have ammo, so it's not like I need to see how many rounds are left in the clip. until someone makes Nova Stars...
