Would you be willing to wait until fan fest of 2015 not knowing for sure what would be revealed there? But you know that PVE is close as it ever has been or the player market at least? Yes and no. If we don't have AT LEAST player market by this years fanfest ill just leave again and wait till next year. Not like I have benn playing much lately anyways.
I don't know if I could return after a whole year of disappointments

YES. Because this can be the greatest game ever. i will still be playing when dust 5.0 comes out. the only way i will quit is IF the rest of the community leaves me and there is an equal or equivalent game out there.
what i mean by equal or equivalent is . it has be more competitive as this, more than 16 vs 16, more complex skill tree, and must be more team based.
This is a game where i must rely on the person behind me to either, 1. kill the person that killed me. 2. replenish my ammo and or health. 3. help me kill someone.
This is truly a one of a kind game. and the world needs these types of games. Do i wish everything was already here? yes. but at the same time i have already invested alot of time. not really worried about the actual money i already spent on it.

They can't afford to wait. They need to come up with something big, and they know it. And SOON, not soonTM.
With PS4 here and gathering steam, PS2 and Destiny coming, if Dust wants to stay even REMOTELY competitive, it's going to need a HUGE boost, not just one thing, but across the board. Map selection, scrimmage options, more open on the starmap, more eve interaction, true balance, the list goes on and on. Right now they're relying on people's patience and the fact that it's free. That will only last so long before people cut their losses and move on regardless of how much they've invested in it. |

I have the patience to wait. I enjoy this game (even with its limitation and flaws), and that's the most important thing for me.
It even resubed EVE, and I can tell you when you are dual screening orbitals you realice they have something special. (It's bloody hard to pull off, but it is well worth it)
Overall I think more about the journey than the goal. |

Agreed, a lot is needed between now and September our patience will only last so long and when we see another game that's an MMO-FPS then there's no reason to wait for Dust.

The community is part of the reason that I came back to this game after 1.7 was released, and once again I've taken a break until this game becomes worth it if it ever does. Being able to set up channels and organizations in the game itself is great and they are the reasons why the community finds reasons to communicate in game. And people spending more time in game to chat about previous matches, having an argument, trying out new ways to fight in overplayed modes. All that seems great but didn't really keep me interested in this... lobby shooter anymore. Been gone a week and I don't regret it, still keeping an eye out for the 1.8 patch notes which we should be getting soon though and asking certain questions here that I've had too much time to think about.

Nothing in EVE is done quick... One of the best things about the game...
I have a friend I started playing EVE with 9 and a half years ago, when he was just a teen. He's been married had two kids and now plays EVE with his 8 year old son every night...
It's one of those games that will be there for you to continue and grow on for years... Not one of those games you spend a couple weeks maxing out your character to beat the game and move on.

Agreed with that it takes awhile to do things in EVE but it's still fun and takes years to master. And that's a hardcore player lol , never seen that many monitors set up by a gamer.

I would be willing to wait, yes. But, unless the game is seriously improved in the next 2-3 months I will be relegating this to a hobby instead of my main game. I'll move on to PS-4 or perhaps get back into PC games and search for a place where I can fully immerse myself in the (smooth & polished) experience I am looking for.
I'd likely log on and play a game or two every few days until 2015 but I wouldn't attempt to cap out, spend AUR, really get much more involved with the game.
I'd continue to participate in the forums, though. I've met some awesome people in this game and on these forums... the scout community rules.

by looking at what little CCP has achieved an open world won't be available for a few more years that is if this game succeeds.

Kinda is shocking to me how many people are willing to keep playing this lobby shooter, not saying that you can't have any fun but after nearly two years of this lobby shooter the fun has died down plenty for me. Not saying that it's a problem to be having fun in these constant battles. It's just that I expected by now we would have a much better connection to EVE by having plenty of things to do that matter in New Eden. Sure FW matters but we don't feel any of the affects and the battles aren't really that different from pub skirmish battles. The LP store is the right way to go but still not much of a change. PC (planetary conquest) has just been a laggy and expensive skirmish mode which really isn't that different from pub skirmish besides the fact that you have a team that knows what it's doing.

I am willing to wait until 2015, but my play time would decrease. I would stick with the game for sure, but it wouldn't be the primary focus of my gaming time any longer. I would stay and play a few games every week to keep in touch, grab some SP and monitor things, essentially. I would still hope the game improves and what not.... but I wouldn't be here as much as I am now.
I definitely wouldn't just quit if I had to wait another year to see all of the things you mentioned. I would wait.... and it would probably be worth it, but I wouldn't be as focused on Dust.

It doesn't matter what platform you give me to do it- I'm never going to get tired of shooting other people in the face over the internet. What seals the deal for Dust to me is how often I run in to much more serious opponents- running solo, I'm constantly faced with uphill battles against a better organized, better equipped enemy, and that makes every kill more satisfying. To me, the EVE link is just the gravy on top- right now it's a little watery, but I'm confident it'll thicken into delicious sauce after it simmers for a while. |

You won't see anything along the lines of boarding titans at Fanfest 2014. I don't think you will see anything connected with the player market or industry either. That part of the game is borked and will take a lot of careful thinking to work out. I expect there will be something new released at Fanfest 2014 though. I'd imagine some kind of PvE might be released or if they want to make a big show they will release the War Barge to further connect EVE Online to DUST 514. |

Well PVE might keep people occupied for some time, I know I will not want to play any of the pvp modes for a very long time again. Played those modes way too many times, and that's another reason why I'm not playing anymore until till 1.8 or until they release anything awesome they show at fan fest IF they have anything awesome. Not sure what exactly what advantages the war barge would give us but I assume it would be for the laggy expensive skirmish mode we call Planetary Conquest (PC) and maybe FW. And with the player market I'm sure they've put plenty of thought into and have been working on it for a very long time. So no player market? fine how about more things to do then stand around in our quarters and hop into quick matches.

It doesn't even have to be boarding titans... It could be a Capture the flag game mode fought on the Inside of a titan for a map...
get some of the maps worked out and the basic infrastructure in place to add to the boarding game mode... later..
Map designs of the inside of a Titan would be enough at fanfest to get almost every EVE player passionate about titans to find a way to log on DUST and experience that.
if the player market or at the very least Player trading...isn't attempted by Summer this year, if the PS4 or future hardware platforms aren't even brought up in future plans for DUST 514.. By the time September Destiny launch comes... This game will have such a massive death rattle in population it will be hard pressed to think it would continue.. |

Would you be willing to wait until fan fest of 2015 not knowing for sure what would be revealed there? But you know that PVE is close as it ever has been or the player market at least? You won't see anything along the lines of boarding titans at Fanfest 2014. I don't think you will see anything connected with the player market or industry either. That part of the game is borked and will take a lot of careful thinking to work out. I expect there will be something new released at Fanfest 2014 though. I'd imagine some kind of PvE might be released or if they want to make a big show they will release the War Barge to further connect EVE Online to DUST 514.
This is exactly how I feel dude, we need something to save this game and sure boarding titans isn't just one of the things needed to save the game. There are plenty of options such as .
After Uprisings release the forums were a bad place, I'll never forget how CCP screwed up so badly.

I won't biomass, I've got far too much time and money spent.
I also like a quick match so I wouldn't disappear or long stretches, but if we don't get my game modes beyond TDM and vehicles still compete directly with infantry for infantry kills I may stop capping out each week.
I play for the long haul. If I think it will be a year before I want to play much and I can get to where I want to be with pure passive SP I could let it sit.
That said, I'm a Star Citizen backer and will be building a PC for it later this year. I've got confidence Chris Roberts will build a space sim I will want to fly. Toss the Oculus Rift on top of that and who knows how much time I'll have for anything else. |

Same, there is no point in bio-massing your character. Star Citizen seems like it's gonna keep plenty of people occupied, and once Destiny is out in September it'll keep plenty of people here that want to play an MMO-FPS. And if Dust ever gets good I'm sure I'll have plenty of passive SP
