Cant wait to see the people in this community finally realize what op really is.
Op is unfightable. The rail rifle WAS NEVER unfightable.

Call me when 3/4 of the userbase uses the MD. Until then, Dust is still AR 514 even though we have a couple of new ARs.

I've been dusting mine off in preparation.
It'll be far from OP with the suits that are running around right now, BUT I think there are going to be a lot of lower HP suits running around for speed and EWAR. For those suits the MD will not be friendly.

The damage buff is very nice, but, as others have stated, Heavies shall laugh MD rounds off.
Plus, with the removal of the +1 to clip size and limited ammo pool, we're still gonna have issues.
xSivartx is my Heavy. There are many like him, but he is my own...
So, other Logi's back off, those are my Warpoints!

If Mass Driver can beat the rifles in direct combat, while taking half the aiming, this ain't gonna be pretty.
At the very least they should remove the aiming jerk that the Mass Driver does to whoever it hits.
Shield regeneration bonus for Gallente Assault is about as useful as Sharpshooter for Nova Knives.

But no, you had to whine that you couldn't kill a rr player in CQC.
Wrong! It's easy, I do it all the time, use an SMG or ar. The rr player will surely eat $#!T.

Yeah sorry, but the MD will still not be OP, maybe usable again but not OP. It is still a slow firing weapon and it is still harder to aim than any rifle. Minmatar commandos with MD may be a force to be feared but I will wait to see. The MD will still situational probably, if you have the high ground you are golden.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

MD is, and has always been, harder to aim with than an AR/Rifle in Dust. |

I get what you are saying. I was thinking about this the other night...Even if, and a big IF, they get TTK somewhat right and balance looks close.
Imagine a competent squad, not these blueberry fucks, but a competent one of the typical "protostomp squads", (RE, AE, 0H, NS, FA, WTF) running a ScR and a MD combo. The sweet tear harvest that will ensue is going to be one for the ages. The ScR to knock the shield off anything, then a buffed MD direct hitting at 300...Holy ****

OP im interested how giving the MD 2 times less DPS as opposed to the current 3.5 times less will make it OP?
Especially when:
11-round clips is 2 1/2 clips at max ammo
Heavies recieve 25% damage reduction
Profciency skill will only improve armour damage so it hits shields for 80% and armour for 125%
Still only fires 1 per second
Shotguns will probably also be buffed
Using an MD on anything but a Commando means no rifle, which means no Long Range 1v1 weapon.
The MD will still be incredibly niche, just more viable in that niche.

You're right, but the splash damage is still 100 something, with +20% to armor before mods/prof. A direct hit is 300. All you have to do is be able to land two rounds within 2.4 meters of your target to shell out almost 400 dmg to armor.

MD's are much harder to aim, no little dot to line up, it's hard to even tell where your round are impacting.
