Not to mention that anyone who's in knife range when they kill it will likely die from the explosion on the tank (unless all medium suits start running NKs as their AV option, lulz).

It would obviously be funny to see but I disagree . I think you should be that you can disable turrets with nove knifes. Makes more sense.

That's....pretty useless. Fully loaded knife hit is 250 damage. (appro) It takes time and make the holder unable to run making it HARD to follow the tanks. and the third camera make the tank able to see it.
You think a 250 damage (if lucky) on a tank would be useful ?
Swarms are 220 x 5 (ADV) and are almost useless. Plasma cannon is 1000 of damage and as everybody know it it's pretty useless against a tank that is not AFK.....
If you want melee weapons to affect vehicules it must not be on pure damage. But !
I think each melee weapon of each race could apply a special debuff on vehicules hit.
Caldari (NK) : Sparks from the knife makes the Main turret instantly Overheat. Turret must have cooldowned before Re-applyng the overheat. Gallente : Makes the scan of the tank totally disabled, no information on Map for 30/60sec. / Tank is spotted for same time. Minmatarr : Tank speed is reduced to 20% of normal speed for 10sec (keep hitting it to reduce the tank speed as long as you hit.) Amarr : Laser tech makes melt the "defensive" of tanks making them takes 20% more damage for 25sec.

Actually, a fully charged Ishukone Proto Pair of Knives do more than 1000 damage easy. If you use a Proto Minmatar Scout and Three Complex Damage Mods you would be doing more damage than a Forge gun.

Uh, what are you talking about with damage? You've obviously never actually used NKs, or even really seen them used... a proto Minja with proto knives will hit with 2 charged swipes (each trigger tap / charge = 2 swipes) for upwards of 1200 damage, or more than a militia FG. With a 0.8 second charge time, you could slice through an unhardened Madrugar before a breach forge has even finished charging. NKs out-damage every weapon in the game, if you can get into melee range.
Also, this really isn't meant to be useful suggestion for serious AVing, just a fun thing that would only require CCP to change a few numbers in their database. |

You need some schooling, bro.
Knives do far more damage than that.
1. Knives have double strike due to the fact that each NK sidearm carries a pair of knives. 2. The base stat that you see in the info screen is the base stat of the weapon PER BLADE and BEFORE charging them. 3. Fully charged knives do at least 2x damage.
ZN-28 Nova Knives have a base stat of 150 HP. With double strike, that equals 300 HP per attack. Fully charged, they deal a combined total of 600 HP per attack. With maxed out Minmatar Scout Dropsuit skill (5% per level = 25% total), that boosts the knives to 750 HP fully charged. NOTE: All this is before applying complex sidearm damage mods and this is all on an Advanced Nova Knife. The Ishukones have a base damage of 200 HP. Think about that for a sec.

hmm would be funny...
but as a offset, tanks then get 1000 hp damage smart bombs with a 25 meter range for defense.
that way we can laugh as the poor scouts get smart bombed into oblivion. of course the smarties would have a cooldown timer...but the glorious ragdoll of dead scouts would be epic. |

That actually makes sense both in fluff and in gameplay. It would give nova knives some additional utility, without making them actual AV equipment. At 100% you still need at least four or so charged swipes, depending on exact loadouts.
It's not more powerful than REs in close combat. Now NK would be the to-go equipment for pilot builds, because they allow you to charge the enemy tank when you are guaranteed to die, jump out and melee them. |
