I'm fine with somebody mining someplace with an explosive or getting killed by a grenade, but by using a remote explosive as an improvised "insta-grenade"? Give me a break.

Well in 1.8 REs will do less damage to heavys
With the 25% blast reduction that would be what? 1125 dmg base damage per remote explosive? Should be overall even less if you have full shields.

Yup. I don't use them, too busy scanning. I do see them as a cool element though. I look for them when scouts retreat but they gete sometimes. No big deal really. The blowing up after death is stupid but CCP will fix that

That's the price you pay for all that power. You don't like getting nailed by REs? Here's some tips (and remember I am a heavy):
1. Always assume that there is a scout waiting around EVERY corner, with REs in hand, and he can see exactly where you are. ALWAYS REMEMBER: blind corners are NEVER your friend.
Continuously check your flanks, unless you've got someone reliable checking them for you, like a good logi bro.
Always let your logi bro check you blind corners first. Like a good logi bro should.
Take special note of any and all scouts you see during a game. Assume that if you are in a game with enemy scout they have REs. Immediately change your gameplay form "relaxed" to "pucker up buttercup".
The list continues on, but I think you probably get the gist of it. I have had many REs thrown at me playing as a heavy, but don't really die by them all that often (I usually kill them before they get the chance, or they toss the RE to early cause they know they are going to die and I easily avoid it). And when I do I can't help but think, GG bro, you caught me slipin'. It feels like a fair mechanic to me. if you are expecting to never die from this then, your not being very fair to the RE users now are you? It's going to happen accept it and learn to deal. Adapt of die.

The biggest challenge that I've seen recently is people dropping REs from top of buildings onto an indoor objective. (ie The map with two round silo-type buildings in the middle on the city - don't remember the name.)
Last night, someone with REs and Nanohives was dropped on the top of the silo and just rained REs on us as we tried to defend the objective against the rest of their team. (It was a domination match.) Aside from an outside sniper, or them running out of ammo, I can't think of any way to counter this.

I only hate the part where you kill the guy before he can detonate his RE, but then he still detonates it anyways....

Maybe if something that "large" of a damage thing had some sort of activation delay or something? Lol RE's kill you hahaha I can tank a rail gun pal get good

Lol, core locus grenades explode on contact, and normally instakill. Try throwing flux nades

Flux grenades. ADS. A good forge gunner if they have a vantage point. Some tanks would probably be able to counter this too.

Heavies can tank REs too especially in 1.8...so I don't know why you complain about this...

Instakill?? I can kill you quicker with my combat rifle than by throwing a remote down and waiting for it to set and then detonate it but but they're my sidearm as I'm a logi ;)

WHY DOES NOBODY DUMP A CLIP IN THEM OR BLOW THEM UP WITH A NADE!
I know you got core nades, an a rail rifle or some crap like just add a few more bullets, I mean when vets let a guy get that close an you don't finish him off, you prove that you rely on your proto gear by crying about it, PATHETIC !! |

I can see that it has amusement value but my decked out heavy, like Calvin's, can't move worth a darn, and reference to another poster, it was that supply depot area where i got smoked by a RE. As another poster indicated, there is amusement value. I should point out that the "RE" grenade took out another player, me, and a spawn point (I think). Hardly seems fair. And I bet that scout suit was dirt cheap too.
Your lack of mobility leads to a lack of motility.
There is quite a speed downside to being heavily armored. Then add plates that slow you down more.
You cannot expect to not have the flaw in your setup used against you. Poor vision and poor speed will be used against you.
Now think about this, most equipment has more eHP then scouts. |

If you let the guy get i range to toss and wait for the delay to detonate, all while you couldn't react, YOU HAD IT COMING. GG Sure didn't seem to be a delay involved to me. recreate it yourself tell us how its done, it sounds like a bug |
