Or you can always do like me. Become a logi and sink a ton of SP into equipment skills and enough into core skills except for armor and shields because you don't think those are all that important right away. Then you can turn around and get enough operation levels for 4 different proto weapons (and several proficiency levels) of which you usually now only use two because one's range is obsolete and the other isn't as effective without an Amarr suit in CQC.
Then make sure the logi suits you use are Caldari, so you can realize after the fact of using all that SP that outside of the proto version, advanced is so gimped on cpu that it's not effective in gunfights usually without getting the drop on someone. So then you start using assault suits instead (more SP now) which work far better. Then remember that you don't have a sidearm so if you're in a match with all scrubs you have to use extreme ammunition management and aiming.
Lastly then you can have to start sinking SP into particle cannon tank fits because when your corp mates aren't on, you have to run with friends from other corps that are nowhere near as organized as the guys you usually squad with, to survive vehicle spam in q-synced ambush and dom matches.
But yes, even with all my "disasters", around 8-10m SP makes you fully functional on the field and an asset if you skill into things wisely. If you run logistics though, it'll take a lot longer. The benefit here is though that you can help your squad/corp mates in all different areas, no matter what they need.

There are two requirements: you must start an alt labeled FEEB(name here) and you are not allowed to spend one SP beyond what the game minimally requires to get started. With tight squads and superior tactics, I am sure we will win every time. So, to all of the most deadly no-matter-what players out there, your time has arrived, and your place is reserved. Text me in-game to get the ball rolling. To be able to beat good players with tactics alone you need to have lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots.... and lots of practice. Proto weapons vs std gear is like a T-rex vs a Walmart employee. That's why people are able to put up 50+ kills while soloing. They see a scrub and he's dead before he can take another step. Literally lol. Teamwork alone can win but only if the moves that you and, everyone around, you need to make are ingrained in your very hands Trust me I've seen things. So, you're out then. Noted. Are you an alt of someone else? Because your idea is actually pretty interesting. We would have to change a few things like maybe the corp name and the whole feeb thing but i might be down. mail me.

Those 2 upgrades can be the difference between life or death. I've ran away in my scout suit with 20 health left thanks to those upgrades! |

a really good PC slayer must have between 20 to 40 million sp because its not just the the suit that matters but also the core skills. |

Once you get enough SP to put together one suit that you can use in PC, The SP gap is closed as far as i'm concerned. What's th minimum SP for making a beast PC suit? I'm asking because i'm tooo lazy to look for myself That number is the "gap" and effectively charts out how many months it'll take for you to be able to compete with skilled Mercenaries. Anyway one of these days ill put into words my take on building a killer clone and ill put everything ive learned out there for the newbies including tips and priority for your skill points

Jenova had 7 mill sp and was playing slayer logi.
My hero smacking around fools with 1/5 their sp!
Ideally you really don't want your first proto suit to be basic proto unless it's a basic heavy frame.
if you put in the 2.5 mill into a proto suit,
another mill into a proto weapon.
a million into lvl 4 of armor and shield upgrades
600k into damage mods
and then a mill into stuff like light weapon operation, explosives and nades, reload, scanners, hives, w/e.

Atiim wrote:R F Gyro wrote:How many L5 skills are an absolute must to be competitive?
Or does an extra 5% really mean the difference between competitive and also-ran?
Also, do we allow Aurum suits & items?
Using Aurum prototype weapons, suits and modules, and level 4 in skills where possible, how many SP are required, and how close to competitive can you be? In terms of being "competitive" relying on AUR items isn't a good idea, because competitive fights can quickly become a meat grinder. Except meat isn't the only think that would be grinded. Your real-life wallet will as well. Can Aurum items be used to bridge the gap though? Get a competitive fit with Aurum then work to replace each Aurum item with its full SP, ISK-only equivalent.
