In one session while I sat on the loading screen the guy over comms announced what map and any notable opponents on the other side. When we had the Warbarge people with SSD could deploy twenty or so seconds early, a huge advantage when playing the old Corp Battles.
I am running a samsung SSD and I spend an average of 9-12 seconds in the barge before every match. Just enough time for me to announce our enemies OR a super quit fitting restock. It is also amazing to have on the failed deployments where the squad needs to back out since I can just leave in the barge instead of waiting through multiple load screens.

Teams were assigned before players are put into the warbarge because it's silly to put both teams on one Warbarge, AND because how else can you meet and greet only your teammates while joining the mission.
Removing it makes it easier for the matchmaking to reshuffle players before the match starts.
YES, there should be some form of lobby before going into a battle, and yes, 2 - 3 minutes is a reasonable amount of time to be waiting for a room to fill up (meaning that no, the Warbarge didn't take remotely close to "too long" when you consider it was part of the matchmaking process). That doesn't mean that assigning teams BEFORE the match starts is sensible.
Removing (or revamping) the Warbarge is a good first step towards introducing a competent matchmaking system that prevents queue-syncing teams from having a full set of squadded players on one side of the battle and having an unfair advantage against the randoms stacked on the opposing team. |

I'd like to see the warbarge again, with increased time and a map overview like we have been promised, simply because starting a round is a masive clusterfuck of people calling in vehicles.

Taking out the warbarge to cater the CODsters was a ridiculous move!
I found my first corp by joining a squad in the warbarge, removing that was just a dumb move.
I would'nt mind if they took it out of ambush, since that's the only mode that is a dumb slaughterfest without any tactics anyway. But for skirmish and domination, bring it back please!

How about this: 1 min warbarge time for skirmish/dom, and 30 sec for ambush? Or even 0 for ambush, that's where all the tryhards who don't have time for the warbarge go anyway. Why not just have something to actually do in the warbarge and take use of the two minutes. What if pilots could select some area near the MCC on the planetary map and essentially start the match in their vehicle (Obviously set back some distance so that they have to advance for 10/15 seconds before they get too far out of the redline). What if squad leaders could set squad orders on the objectives before the match, so that everyone would know "Squad 1 is going for A, Squad 2 is going for B", etc If only that table would work.
So about those vehicle locks...

For me it was queuing for battles in battle finder that was a pain. The warbarge wait allowed squads to form, size up the other side and the obligatory mobbing of a merc to grab a feel of their ass.
I would rather have a quick battle finder and a reasonable wait in the barge. At the present moment the barge is absolutely pointless outside of FW/PC and for it to load for less than 3 seconds is a troll.

+1. Rather wait in the warbarge than stare at a loading screen. Never see squad invites until after the match. Checking notifications takes too much time at beginning of battle, especially when trying to beat the enemy to the middle objectives at start.
Also, I really miss the occasional stalker that follows you around in the warbarge. Always good for a laugh.
Great job, team. Head back to the MCC for debriefing and cocktails.

I've always wondered why there is a useless sand table in the warbarge, it seems perfect for pre-match statergery but is nothing more than a gigantic paperweight. |

I-Shayz-I wrote:Okay, I'm going to keep this short because there doesn't need to be a lot of explaining here.
The Warbarge might have seemed like a useless thing to you designers, making us spend less time in the game or whatever, but we need to to make sure that matches aren't started with one team gaining an unfair advantage over the other team. I just played 5 matches in a row where either our side or the enemy side had started out the match with almost all of the objectives captured before the enemy team spawned in.
Other times I have gone into a match where less than 16 players total are playing, and one side having at least a full team because players left at the beginning of the match from the battle not filling up.
Having a warbarge gives the matchmaking system time to fill the matches, and lets a match deploy with full teams AT THE SAME TIME so that both teams have a fair chance at claiming objectives in the beginning. ______________________________________________
So please, bring it back. The majority of us never complained about the warbarge taking too long...In fact, the only players complaining were the new players that weren't informed about joining squads, or how advantageous it is to play with others. If time is still an issue the match can deploy early if there are at least 14 players on each side.
Why not have the team chat open up if you're not in a squad while you're in the warbarge? What about having some sort of message bubble come up that advises you to join a squad or make one yourself?
This is probably a case of damned if you do, damned if you don't. As a guy who randomly squads up, I would love the chance to squad up and maybe even have a quick talk before being deployed. As it is I have to spend a precious 15 seconds at the beginning of the game finding and joining a squad with no idea who I'm squadding with. OTOH if you are in squads or soloing it seems a waste of time.
Because, that's why.

A spawn time counter needs to implemented. Match deployment is the most crucial part of a match, and if one team gets in 30-45 seconds before the other, it's broken.
It would also eliminate the advantage everyone has using a Solid State Hard Drive in their PS3. Being able to spawn into a match up to a minute before everyone else is unfair. Why can't we all start a match at the exact same time like any other game(irl or video) on planet earth?

The war barge is not necessary for pubs.
First of all, the matchmaking system already takes its time "balancing out" the teams. It does this the moment you queue in. You don't need to be physically sitting in the game for matchmaking to be doing its thing. Matchmaking just happens to suck at it royally, which is the real problem.
Second of all, time in the warbarge gives players an opportunity to look at the player list, realize they are about to become anally penetrated, and leave the game. This leads to further imbalance on the teams, as the system has to quickly grab anyone it can to replace them. |

I would like to see the time that was in the war barge used to shuffle teams around to be more ballance. like the game doesn't pick sides it picks for a game and then balances the teams from there that would help not have matches that are 10-2, I mean how are 4 randoms ending up on the same team as a squad against two randoms, I would assume dropouts but it happens too damn frequently. |

actually this is a great Idea plus it would allow for staging, basically you have the entire battle field be a red line for 30sec-1min, people can load in get their vehicles preped and loaded, scope the battle field, it would make the first couple minutes of the match wwwwaaaaaaayyyyy more interesting. |

Id like to add one more thing to this thread as to why the Warbrge should come back .People usually favorite their favorite fit and this gives you a mental "note" as to what your squad mates usually wear in battle. Some times maybe one or 2 people might be unfamiliar in your squad. The warbarge just gave you a visual que as to what roles people played instead of having to ask or just not knowing.
