Okay, I'm going to keep this short because there doesn't need to be a lot of explaining here.
The Warbarge might have seemed like a useless thing to you designers, making us spend less time in the game or whatever, but we need to to make sure that matches aren't started with one team gaining an unfair advantage over the other team. I just played 5 matches in a row where either our side or the enemy side had started out the match with almost all of the objectives captured before the enemy team spawned in.
Other times I have gone into a match where less than 16 players total are playing, and one side having at least a full team because players left at the beginning of the match from the battle not filling up.
Having a warbarge gives the matchmaking system time to fill the matches, and lets a match deploy with full teams AT THE SAME TIME so that both teams have a fair chance at claiming objectives in the beginning. ______________________________________________
So please, bring it back. The majority of us never complained about the warbarge taking too long...In fact, the only players complaining were the new players that weren't informed about joining squads, or how advantageous it is to play with others. If time is still an issue the match can deploy early if there are at least 14 players on each side.
Why not have the team chat open up if you're not in a squad while you're in the warbarge? What about having some sort of message bubble come up that advises you to join a squad or make one yourself?

I can't recall the post but CCP, along with community feedback, decided the WB took too long and folks wanted to hop into the action. You surely remember folks complaining about the Warbarge, right?

I don't remember much complaining, but I can see 2-3 minutes being too long.
How about this: 1 min warbarge time for skirmish/dom, and 30 sec for ambush? Or even 0 for ambush, that's where all the tryhards who don't have time for the warbarge go anyway.

Why not just have something to actually do in the warbarge and take use of the two minutes. What if pilots could select some area near the MCC on the planetary map and essentially start the match in their vehicle (Obviously set back some distance so that they have to advance for 10/15 seconds before they get too far out of the redline). What if squad leaders could set squad orders on the objectives before the match, so that everyone would know "Squad 1 is going for A, Squad 2 is going for B", etc

There was a thread with folks complaining about the length of time in the Warbarge. CCP and community were behind the changes.

The one minute wait inside the war barge wasn't that long, everGǪ Plus it gave you time to do crap, like join a squad, or make a squad, or ask a locked squad if you could join, you know the very important things of the game not only because of teamwork but because ORBITALS. Very few people want to join a squad once they are deployed, and i don't hate on them for that for a couple reasons. You're on the ground DOING NOTHING for ten to twenty seconds while the team screen loads. If you then choose to not do that because 10 to 20 seconds CAN AND WILL make or break a game (most vehicles get blasted by then en route because redliners and installs have already been set up, also spawning mid match in the middle of battle gets you blasted) you choose to make your own squad, not giving a crap who joins because wasting time scrolling sending out invites ends up taking ten times longer. There's also no use to ask to join a squad through mailing or team chat because no one will check that until well into the match. |

I don't know if this is true or not but I've heard that folks with SSDs in their PS3 see the warbarge on occasions. I know I wonder why the objectives are being hacked when I just stepped into a new game sometimes.

I see it all the time, for a split second.
It's still there, the time has just been so reduced, and technically your character is "there" while you're deploying into the match on the loading screen.

Add another 30. I would like a minute. When I did get into WBs and it was a pub match, I often see a dropsuit that looks cool that I check out. I'm probably typing "squad up" in team chat and talking with squad mates. Then I look at the roster board before remembering just in the last few seconds I need to restock an item.

The wrong part of the community provided feedback then! :) I really miss the war barge and instead we sit in our quarters waiting for it to load. I like seeing who we are up against before battle starts and having a short time to take a stroll :)

I always thought the Warbarge was an unnecessary step. If we just went straight to the MCC with a 2 or 3 minute timer, all players would be able to access the Map Overview, prepare tactics and fittings, and deploy at the same time while giving Scotty time to fill teams that don't use Team Deploy (should be coming sooner than SoonGäó) or to compensate for players who Leave Battle prior to the beginning of a match.

The warbarge is a great place for randoms to squad up, a last chance to check fittings, size up your opponents, discuss all this with your squad mates if in a squad. They should have never taken it away and really need to set it back to somewhere between 45 and 75 seconds.
They did not actually change anything to get rid of it but set the timer down so it's not like it would be difficult. |

i too miss the warbrage, not only for a brief chance to squad up with the players available but take in the sights(suits) and socialize abit before heading off to the field, plus i miss looking down at the planets from the window.
A strange game.

If the Warbarge's Table actually displayed the map we where to be playing on instead of taking up real-estate for nothing... Every second in the Warbarge would be useful. |

In one session while I sat on the loading screen the guy over comms announced what map and any notable opponents on the other side. When we had the Warbarge people with SSD could deploy twenty or so seconds early, a huge advantage when playing the old Corp Battles.

Bringing the Warbarge back is a great idea, perhaps a minor increase to overall ISK and SP to make up for the extra time spent waiting.
Needs the 3D table back or an intel display accessable through neocom showing what map is loading.
The warbarge was a great place to build squads and meet ppl with mics. You can see your notifications easier and accept squad invites. Too many times I forget to check notifications during battle. A small indicator on the HUD, like a green notification dot that stays until notification would be extremely helpful for those of us not with a corp.
Also, it gives people a place to show off their fancy suits and that would inspire more vanity purchases.
I also miss trapping people in corners and circles of people walking backwards.

A while back I could have sworn I saw something mentioned about it being brought back but it wont be for as long as it used to be. It was nice though to have that little break in between before the match actually starts. Hoping the table in the center eventually shows the map and objectives you are fighting over before the match starts.
