You stood in there for two minutes.
+1 agreed.
If the Warbarge's Table actually displayed the map we where to be playing on instead of taking up real-estate for nothing... Every second in the Warbarge would be useful. |

Needs the 3D table back or an intel display accessable through neocom showing what map is loading.
The warbarge was a great place to build squads and meet ppl with mics. You can see your notifications easier and accept squad invites. Too many times I forget to check notifications during battle. A small indicator on the HUD, like a green notification dot that stays until notification would be extremely helpful for those of us not with a corp.
Also, it gives people a place to show off their fancy suits and that would inspire more vanity purchases.
I also miss trapping people in corners and circles of people walking backwards.
They used to have bunny hoping in Warbarges ;)

It's funny cuz there was no forum rage or forum hate about the time we spent in warbarges on forums and if it was it was very minimal or about the War table that takes up all that realestate and does absolutely nothing.
CCP developers playing each other, felt that they spent to much time in the warbarge so they removed the timer.
Sadly what CCP never saw because they really mainly only played each other in the office. Was that players chose if they wanted to be part of that match at that time. If the opposing team was to strong, players would leave from warbarge and find another match, Meanwhile a full squad of a more matchable nature would end up joining in.
The removal of Warbarge instead of simply fixing it, hurt the player driven matchmaking that we had partaken in DUST for over 6 months and threw it out the window. This was ok aslong as the Matchmaking system CCP introduced in the 1.4 September patch actually did anything but actively keep players OUT of matches.
Now we have a broken matchmaking system that is a "Touchy point" for CCP, that they barely have even made a comment on. Yet in Beta's all they did was talk about their efficient matchmaking. Cuz every game critic asked "How are you going to do matchmaking in a persistent FPS game" Before DUST even launched into Alpha.
Just give players the ability to mediate our own matches and have more then a 10 second choice in warbarge to leave, Because the lagged Player name list now takes longer then 10 seconds to load... Which is another WTF? we had a player name list you could call up while playing that caused no loading... Then you guys make an intricate player list that needs to be loaded each time? hit a player list should be quick check but instead it usually spells out your death.
So many problems today was actively created by a CCP employee and uninformed decision process that didn't involve the community in anyway. These problems didn't exist in Chromosome. |

But seriously, I add my humble support to the return of the warbarge. It was a novel piece of the game's design. Like literally, a lobby. Dare I say, if CCP used some imagination, the warbarge could have added a unique social aspect to the gameplay.
Imagine a 2 minute warbarge... But everyone gets to have a melee fight to the death. Last person standing gets 100k.
Or a Warbarge where that table actually displayed the map you are about to play on. Then all 2 minutes in that warbarge actually matter, you can plan squad and team tactics.. Plan out your route.. Plan out your fittings that you will need for that map.
You know all the actual consoles we have in the warbarge? instead we have no information about the match we are going into or barely any.. And no need to use the many facilities on the warbarge. |
