Damage bonuses are for Commandos. Assaults should get bonuses like what the current Amarr Assault does.

Not a great idea because all weapons are not the problem. Laser taking a 15% damage penalty ultimately means less DPS before overheat, the weapon is already bad right now. HMG and Shotgunners should auto-win in CQC, Shotgunners need all the damage they can get. MD rounds become a joke. Snipers quit the game. Lol Plasma Cannons. Then there are multiple sidearms that take hits for no reason.
Meanwhile the Rifle will still take less than 2 seconds to kill someone from 0-60+ meters. "Damage nerf across the board" will only widen the gap between Rifles and all other weapons in the game. The problem isn't TTK, it's Rifles. |

I'd still rather see the assault class get the passive armor rep bonus of the current logis. Dealing more damage in comparison to the other classes is a fair enough compromise, however.
Life is killing me.

That doesn't solve jack **** All you do is nerf everyone equally and then put the assault on a pedestal with an innate complex damage module so everyone would just die to assaults.
Would solve the 1.8 heavy/scout epidemic but then this would just remain Assault 514

Rifles are not the only things in game that can melt you in an instant.

an AR can still kill a heavy with an HMG (without damage mods or proficiency) in 3 seconds or less. scouts and logi's would be instantly obliterated by assaults and a single assault suit with this bonus plus damage mods will completely annihilate heavies.
observe: heavies will only be getting a max of 10% resistance to one type of damage profile. with this blanket 10% buff you neutralize their 10% resistance to the specific damage profile (shield resistance for example) and stil do 10% more to the profile they dnt have resistance with.
on top of that with damage mods, more range and higher manuverability one assault suit can just single handledly thrash a heavy suit as fast as a scout.
this has happened before, and is happening now.

It's a BAD idea.
Weapons just CAN'T all receive 15% nerf. It will keep balance problem between weapons. (Rifles and others) It will make AV weapons even worse. It would make nades too powerful compaired to others way of kill. Not all weapons deserve a 15% nerf that's stupid.
Assault are not meant to be "MOAR DAMAGE" they're meant to use their weapons BETTER. Commandos are meant to be "MOAR DAMAGE" not assaulters.
Assaulters are a versatile units (don't forget Logi is going to be Nerfhammered) pretty fast unit (compaired to commandos) capable of movement / flanking and that know how to hold their weapons to optimize them. They can fit weapons to use the less PG/CPU from them. (The 5% PG/CPU reduction on weapons bonus they're gonna have soon). They have a good base ehp to make them able to fit OTHERS modules than (damagers/plates/shield extender) making thme a versatile unit. Less PG/CPU from their wepaons means they willbe able to fit some extra life AND something like a dampener/hack/melee or something else making them the most versatile unit.
Not just a dumb class : "MOAR DAMAGE MOAR EHP BECAUZ LOL WUT"
And to finish weapons don't just need an adjustment on damage. They need changmeent about their way of play.
Exemple : Just nerfing rail rifles by his damage would be pretty dumb. A small damage nerf is useless and a too big make it useless. Should be a small nerf to damage AND lowermag/twice more charge up. We can't make a "general" nerf on ONE THING. We must change weapons ONE BY ONE. |

I take it you never run as a scout. Dmg reduction does near nothing to improve the TTK of scouts but greatly increases the chance of scouts target to turn and kill them.
hipfire dispersion, kick, aim assist nerf would do the same for TTK and reward those that actually aim without any dmg reduction.
assault bonus are even in line with this because they allow the assault to do more dmg over time and still allow scouts that have more time to aim with surprise and scan to take down a target. |

Each weapon needs to be fixed separately. They all have different purposes and pros n cons. Such as the Combat Rifle should be focused in short-mid range hence Combat. Forge guns need to be buffed since the charge isn't worth the kick. |

that is only one assault bonus. less dispersion/kick means more hits. more ammo means more dmg over time. less heat means more dmg over time. the caldari bonus does suck.

thats after initial spooling which is about 1.5 seconds. and only if the assault stands perfectly still.
so yeah that two-step side stepping bullshit still works. ARs are great at all ranges? who knew?
