I can't wait to slit this scanner nooks throat.
Most good scouts couldn't care less about the cloak. We already use our situational awareness and terrain to sneak about and I , for one, don't need a cloak for that. Most skilled scouts that do use the cloak will be using it as an escape plan when things go south.
Get gud fool. Put down your scanner for a bit and see how much a crutch it is.
Unbelievable. Scouts finally get some love and wankers like this wig out. He probably runs a brick tanked logi, wants heavy damage output, a bunch of equipment AND to see everything on the map while 360 spamming his scanner.

I've already prepared my QQ.
And I've already dealt with a squad of scouts in a closed environment. My reaction time was futile.

CCP stated back in that old equipment dev blog that the cloak isn't a 100% invisibility even when standing still, so if that is still true that could easily change a lot of perceptions. And if not, maybe people need to start spraying bullets when they enter CQC areas just in case If the cloaking is only as invisible as it was in say Red Faction Guerrilla then it should still be very useful while at the same time not being something you can simply camp a corner with. Show me a vid with a enemy view of cloak Give me a sec. It's hard to find a video that gives a good view of it since I can't exactly search "Red Faction Guerrilla Cloak Enemy View." I have to manually look through videos and see if the player engages a cloaked enemy. +1 for your time. edited the post. Sorry, can't find a good view At 0 28 in that video the Player go out of a building and Kill a cloaked Guy. You can See it for Like a second or two but I think it is how it looks |

Honestly, you make too many assumptions. Nowhere have I said "Waa, I can't use my scanner to scan scouts in 1.8" nor "I am a slayer logi, don't change anything". I have played a Gallente logi before it was FOTM and I focus on keeping my team in the game with good uplink and nanohive placement so hush fool! If anything logistics are getting the worst side of 1.8 because our overall abilities are getting cut by the equipment nerf so those actually doing their jobs will see the nerf. I think the nerf to scanners puts them in their place much better although I think there was better ways to deal with uplink/nanohive spam.
I do want scouts to be good, but not too good that CCP will nerf them back into the dark ages like they once did with the heavy. If you read any of my previous posts you would see I don't recommend the active scanner as a good counter to scouts but instead suggest empowering the Caldari scout suit to improve on it abilities as a scout hunter. Reduce all scout scan dB to at least 40 to 35 then make precision modules just as effect as dampeners and move them from highs to lows. Then the Caldari scout would be beast at hunting down other scouts because somebody needs to be able to. |

When the QQ about scouts start cropping up after 1.8 I will only say "I told you so". And it's not just about scanners, it's more about the fact that there is no good counter to a dampened scout. Nobody will be able to scan them, even more so since in 1.8 they can avoid ADV scanners without any skills at all.
Its easy to avoid scanners now, I fail to see the QQ about the new patch. Scouts are getting a viable change and will now have a leg up and everyone is crying. All i hear is, i am going to have to work for my kills? Waaah. I am glad they are getting an injection of awesome. Its so sad that such a fun role has been **** on for over a year. Its about time.

Did you even read my post before yours? I don't want to nerf scouts, I want to empower them to self regulate themselves. |

I'm not concerned about the cloaking tbh, it's a nice thing for scouts. What I am concerned about is that you may well be able to make them assault scouts with a cloak.

I think there's no need to get concerned about anything until the update is out and hands on experience can remove the elements of speculation and misinformation that people have.
The whole infantry game is being reworked and is being woven into a much tighter system. I'm personally really happy to see more of the lore aspect come into racial bonuses and battlefield roles. Cloaking and active scanners and the whole idea of intel warfare is something that fascinates me about DUST and I can't wait for more...moar electronic and stealth warfare!
